Subjective List Time: America's 20 Rudest Cities

It is a popular misconception that New Yorkers are rude. Impatient, I can understand, but Rude?! Actually, the reason why they are regarded as “mean” is because there is a rhythm, a system in NY. Interrupt that rhythm, and people will get upset. But, if you stop almost anyone, they will be willing to help.

Most Polite Cities in the World

granted, these are based on old surveys, but come to ny. It may take a day or two to get into the rhythm, but once you do, you’ll see people are a lot more courteous than one would typically anticipate.

Spend enough time in that fun-filled city and it becomes obvious.

People are angry in Philly but they usually always are nice.

It’s weird. Like Angry politeness, you just have to get used to being go go go go, or it seems like everyone is just a jerk.

I’m sure it’s like that in every big city. Especially one as densely populated as NY. As for LA? Yeah, people out there are assholes.

I don’t think I’ve ever visited a city and thought “wow the people in this city in general are rude.” The only time I thought people were overtly polite was when I was in Japan, and only because I can’t imagine myself having the same patience trying to help someone who I can’t communicate with.

I plan to visit NY some time in the future. Thank you for your input.

I also almost forgot how diverse NY is.

If you’re not white, Boston has to be #1. Otherwise I assume this list is fine. NY sucks btw. Socal is generally the best but I guess LA has a high wannabe model/actress quotient so I can see where that comes from. But San Diego was really nice.

How the fuck is Phoenix in the double digits on this list?

L.A. is justified.

As I see it.

Anchorage = Seattle Jr.

Don’t head up to Philly with stuff like a Cowboys Jersey, and you should be fine.

lol your from ct and never experienced hostility? have you not been to springfield…aka shot fired. lol.

They should change the survey title to:

“Name a city you had an isolated bad experience in, whose populace you now generalize based on that one incident, ignoring the fact that you probably just didn’t take a couple minutes to figure out how things worked there, or you’re an idiot.”

But I guess it’d be a little long.

Fixed.

San Francisco is considered a rude city?

I was not aware of that. I lived in South Bay for 4 years, and visited SF numerous times and I never thought SF was rude.

lol…fucking boston. even after all these years…this shit is hella racist. seen the departed yeah its that shit just toned down.

That’s pretty much what I was thinking haha

Downtown SF?

I spent a day there. Everybody avoids eye contact, ignores the homeless/panhandlers, and there’s zero regard for traffic laws.

It’s pretty funny. Spent a good hour just watching and laughing at drivers/pedestrians being complete assholes to each other.

^ I too ignore the homeless and panhandlers, their vicious in SF. For once Stocton is not in the lead of something negative on a list.

funny how stockton ca didnt make the list

niggas just deleted the 209 stockton thread again for excessive trolling

Been here for 7 years. People can be pricks getting from point A to B, otherwise I’ve seen far worst place to live in Canada.

ny being that high on the list is bullshit.
15-20 years ago? ok. maybe. nowadays? lol, right.
