Its pretty funny reading all of these instances of people showing their naievity to games and its good to know I’m not the only person this has happened to.
-All comments happened while playing CVS2-
The ones that I hear usually are…
“You’re not giving me a chance!”
“I can’t get out of the corner!”
“Where’s my SUPER!”
“I blocked that!”
“A-Groove is cheap!”
“Kyo is cheap!” (This is CVS2 we’re talking about here…CVS2)
But this one by far is the classic of stupid things people say when I’ve beaten them. I was playing at my school at a fighting game club and this guy comes up to me…
Random Scrub: " Damn, you what is that?"
Me: "Its an Agetec…"
Random: "A whaaa?"
Me: "Its an arcade stick."
Random: " Yeah, thats probably why you winning so much…you got that big hand controller. Why can’t you use a regular controller like normal people."
Random: “You prolly would get wooped if you used a normal controller without codes in it. I know you got codes in that joint!”
wow… arcade i go to i never ever ever had someone say something to me after they lost mostly its because 18+ come to play :rolleyes:
there was this one time when i went to the arcade in the mall(Tilt) marvel there is 2 coins!!! but whatever, i played my friend about 3 times then like 5 kids come up and play each one plays like 2 times beat all their asses then like some teenagers come and they get their asses kicked to, then finally i lost after 17 wins and the whole crowd is like OHHH!!!.
Then another time i played XvSF with some guy, beat him twice then he leaves…5 minutes later he brings his 5 other asian friends, kicked all their asses i could hear them talking that chinease stuff then i lost after about 7 wins -_-. thats all for me
“I’m so sick of fighting top tier characters” (shut up like you know or like it matters)
“_________ is so broken/unbalanced/cheap” (you wouldn’t be saying that if you were winning)
“man, I was gonna do _____________” (well, you shoulda done it!)
“The only reason you’re winning is cos I don’t have an arcade stick” (this is just outright insulting, like as if I’d be getting schooled if he just had the magic stick or something, lol)
“__________ is such a dumb character” (beat him then)
“_________________ is a bad matchup for ______________” (learn the matchup then)
“You practice this game for hours” (you wish, kid)
" __________ (whoever they’re using) is so hard to use" (sounds rough, go get your bottle and take a nap, motherfucker, jeez)
All I gotta say to people like this is: Shut up about the technical aspects of the game, and try to outsmart me instead of outtheorize and outtier-ize and whatever the hell else to me, you might be surprised with the results. And FYI, 15-30 minutes a day will do it. Now shut up, already.

To be honest, it’s true i just watched all these cps2, cps3 vids off the internet for years. one day picked up a stick and could instantly do everything. honest.
Me; “Potemkin…Buster…” You can switch his name for a series of grapplers.
“I lose? Woot! Going to play WoW.” Usually after I’ve won or lost a good number of matches.
“That…was gay.” When I just get owned.
Others; “For the free.” When he misinputs, or I time my attacks better. He changes to defensive, waiting style and style whines. I normally lose then.
“Dirrrty.” God this guy is so gay.
“Fuck this shit.” During the Slayer bite loop dude just tossed the controller and left.
“OMG What IS that?!” When I break out my Potemkin on unsuspecting victioms who have been fighting my Ky/Anji/Johnny.
I get that one in GGXX alot. That game is too good not to have tech. He also kept leaving himself open on my wake up, so I kept grabbing and it was like:
him: "Yo, stop mashing HS."
me: "wtf? If I left myself open like that, you would grab me."
him: “Yeah, but you can’t.” (implying i don’t have the skill to press HS when nothing is hitting me) :rolleyes:
Reality wise there is no cheap playing cus they made the game(CVS2) to counter alot of stuff but if not u got 2 figure out the guy your playing. One thing though some of these players love to throw and it gets a person all wild up when your being tossed around constantly. I’ve learned not to get wild up and i start to learn there pattern of the throwing game that they play. Now me personaly i think that type of playing is sorry especialy when thats all they do (u know tap,tap w/ jab then jus throw) and usally when a player does that to me I’ll figure him out and next time i play him he starts gettin mad cus he’s not winning cus his throwing stratgy is not workin. Then when he looks at me I’ll tellem “its alot harder when you cant throw, you makin yourself easy to read when your game revolves around throwing so what goods is your game” It happens almost every time. Also when im telling people this im serious and im showin them a real game face that has nothing to do with Video Games cus most these players dont have a life when they step out of the Arcade and things they do in the game they cant do when they step out of the Arcade. Im not encouraging people to fight over Video Games but people do get mad and forget that its just a game but that goes both ways.
