Hi everyone I’m new here and relatively new to sfv with only around 1300-1500 matches. I’m not new to fighting games I have 25+ years experience. Typically my win percentage in fighting games is about 75% in general but with sfv I’m only about 50% and can’t get anywhere in the rankings. What is up with this game? I love it and hate it at the same time. A player of my skill don’t belong in low ranks but I’m stuck there wtf. This is the hardest to play fighter I’ve ever played to be honest. What’s the issue? Is it my characters? Laura, Birdie, but mainly Sagat right now is who I play. So yeah I’m not playing with some cheap ass bullshit and earn my wins. However I get robbed constantly. Like the throwing in this game is total bs and flat out sucks. When I can’t grab say Canny with Sagat but from same exact distance she can grab Sagat, that’s just bad 
. So just how the mechanics work is apart of the issue I think. But also just character usage is annoying. 50% of the time you will fight a Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Guile, or Canny player and 50% of the time it will be someone else. But yes 50% of the time you get matchedup against one of five characters. So those are a pain because those are the best characters aside from ryu and ken but they are still annoying pains that I think are underrated. When fighting some other character the other 50% of the time, most the time probably fight a matchup that just don’t get to fight enough or have very little experience against so you lose mainly due to not being sharp enough on playing the matchup. So like fucking r.mika who I have trouble with I just can’t keep consistency against that char because of never playing the matchup frequently enough. What I’m saying its too much of those 5 characters that you don’t get proper handle of most other matchup or at least it takes a lot longer to and with lack of fighting those matchups you a liable to have rust or consistency issues on those kind of matchup. How much those 5 chars are used I feel like that’s the cause of this issue. Play some other characters for crying out loud…
So this maybe lil bit of a rant thread but I want to discuss this because I know I’m not the only one. Being stuck in bronze or silver makes you feel like you suck but my history says otherwise. After how much I’ve played thus far I’ve determined it can’t just be me, its the game…
