What exactly is dissappointing you? It’s not like you weren’t hit. I’m not even sure if that’s hardest, usually if you get hit by firebreath you die right away, and the punches from both sides usually aren’t that effective on hardest because there are too many enemies and they punch a bit faster than you. Maybe it’s because you’re on 1P mode and just the 4th stage, I usually play this on 2p hardest and we’ve never beaten it, I’m usually alone on the final stage and I just can’t beat the double claw guys by myself. Are you trying to tell us you beat the entire game without losing a life or something? Last time we played I think we didn’t have to continue until the 6th stage, but the game froze on us and wouldn’t let us continue. I guess I can try by myself, it looks like there’s only one boss each time, it’s MUCH harder when there are two bosses running around each time with 1 random punk as well.
I honestly don’t wanna see this thread bumped again until that blasted game is released.

Yo this is the hotness fo real. I love SOR. I have the music on my cell phone and all that good stuff. I’ve been waiting for SOR to make some kind of comeback for a long time and to see that fans are out there are willing to put it together is great.

Dude’s remixed music that came in the sampler is FANTASTIC. I’ve been waiting to hear some quality remixes like this for awhile, but for some reason Overclocked hasn’t really had the remix quality I’d want for Streets of Rage.
I can’t WAIT for this project when it’s done.
I played it.
They fucked up the gameplay. They should have just stole the SOR2/3 code for gameplay. Beats of Rage got it right, this does not.
I will say this. Max’s running animation, based on CVS2 Gief, looks fucking incredible. Perfect. Same for the car specials. Again, it’s almost like Sega coded it themselves. Amazing.
With that said, the -redone- graphics were a big waste of time. I tried turning it off, but shit still blew up with the transparent explosion. It would have been cooler if they’d have just hacked SOR2 or 3 and created a new rom for use with Gens. That would have been the perfectly genuine experience.
Criticism aside, it’s a cool little project.

It’s homebrew. Runs under a program called Fenix or something. Very compatible and you don’t have to fuss with patches or other essential files to get it running.
The game you played is a beta so obviously a lot of the gameplay elements are fucked up: no safe landings, weapons, missing moves, etc. That beta version is over a year old and they haven’t released an updated one since.
This looks to be pretty damn wild, I seriously cannot wait until the 31st, I’ll hold out from the beta version until the final version is released. Just watched the video on the last page…and is it just me, or does the gameplay seem to have gotten faster? Even in SoR3, I don’t remember it being that quick, oh well, being faster to me I think is a good thing, I’ve always liked SoR but I never liked how slow it moved, although in SoR3 they sped it up, but SoR2>>>>Every other SoR to date.
Looking forward to this remake, will be fun to play with, Axel ftw!
Edit: Just listened to the remixed music sampler…damn, it’s off the damn hook! I hope this remake doesn’t dissappoint, so far, I’m liking it.
Axel was broken as fuck in the last beta. I don’t think they’re going to tone him down either. And the speed hasn’t really changed. That’s just how the vid was recorded.
