You’re clearly trying to create a strawman here. A comboable overhead is not a weakness, he doesn’t need a good projectile and alot of his specials are safe dude. Ruffian kicks are generally safe if spaced properly, and if Criminal Upper isn’t safe, it’s definitely prohibitively difficult to punish as far as I can tell. A 3 frame normal with that range is just ridiculous. He literally beats 80 percent of the cast on the ground with that thing. He will be fine without it. It’s not like the rest of his normals are garbage.
He will be nowhere near the worst in the game…His pressure game and frame traps can easily be rated somewhere around “above average” if not better, he maintains a 2 hit tag cancellable overhead, his sweep and st. HK are still good pokes, and he remains one of few characters with an invincible anti-air. It’s gonna be ok man, I promise.
I agree five frames start-up and -4 on block is overkill. All that needed to be done was a significant range nerf and perhaps an adjustment to four frames of startup for good measure.
Let me know when Cammy or Chun start using their low shorts as footsies tools.

Isn’t LP GH now somehow buffed on block because not many have 3f moves anymore which makes it even harder to punish the -4 GH? What I don’t get is the nerf (?) on Gief’s Splash. Now it’s the same than Knees…so I can tick better with it? Aren’t the kbees now somewhat redundant? Strange

Sim didnt bother me. He was fine. Even as Gief/Hugo he wasnt unbeatable by any means. Hard yes but def beatable.
KKK Lariat i persoanlly still havnt found a use for other than quick recovery on fireball pass through. If the hitbox is extended downward though, then that added to the lower body invincibility might make it useful as an alternate footsie tool to sMP. Hell i might even be able to figure out a way to turn it into a sudo 50/50
Yeah you’re right on GH. It’s one of those hidden buffs. There are still some characters with 3 frame normals too, but all in all hard to punish doesnt equal safe. So i’m not really going to use it more often than I do now.
At the range I’d land splash, I’m not comfortable jumping in anyway. If i landed a move at that range it’s jump forward + HP. Closer than sMP range and i’d use knees anyway. So irrelevant to me IMO
I swear Guile wasnt even that good of a character in regular SFxT? He felt very mid tier to me. No idea why they’d absolutely butcher him like that.
They even took away the one unique thing he had going for him which was his one of a kind alpha counter input. The fact that he builds no meter for whiffing booms also just makes him completely useless in my eyes. He was a decent battery character in regular SFxT and now theyve taken that away from him. I dont even know what Guile has going for him anymore at all.
I guess Capcom want to appease the people that call zoning ‘spam’ and just nerf any good zoning character. Cant believe ‘spam’ is still even a concept even in this modern age where there is so many resources and ways to show it is absolutely not. Sagat was even worse than Guile as a zoning character and they even nerfed him too!
AFAIK, her changes were pretty minimal - chances are that she’ll continue to struggle with her main problems (ways to do damage and tagability) - having less meter gain isn’t very nice too - even though a lot of characters were nerfed to almost the same level.
Even If Poison was god-like in SFxT2013, being a good character due to everyone being nerfed to shit… isn’t right. I’d rather take a balanced game.
