Street Fighter X Tekken

Anybody else playing this at the moment?

The roster looks fairly empty without Makoto. Decided to pick up Abel / Rufus for my team.

All in all, the shallow gameplay of Sf x T is playing hell with my online style. Gone are the days of tactical meaty wakeup oroshi, and now it seems everyone but the Shoto’s are free to overhead jump-ins!

I got it, but I don’t particularly like it so far. The normals feel really slow and I find it extremely difficult to punish whiffs, even with lights. To my thinking, this only makes reversals stronger and encourages defensive play. The low throw range also does that too.

I started playing Juri because there was no Mak.

It’s funner when you find a team you like. I wasn’t really having fun earlier when I was playing with someone until I ended up going with Abel (for familiarity, I used to play Abel before I gradually made the change to Mak) and King. King is just cool. :o :stuck_out_tongue: Not sure on order yet though, I kind of like King first. <.<
I noticed something. Something familiar in the King forums, a name, something like Mossad Man. <3 :stuck_out_tongue: Looked like he was going with Heihachi/King.
I know Vryu was planning on going with Poison last I heard. Vitriol is going with Asuka (cause she looks the most like Makoto).

I like the game. It’s fun and easy AND a great cast. Mak wouldn’t translate well into that game anyway.

I’m currently enjoying the game, the online issues are quite off-putting but there’s a very good scene here in Melbourne so it isn’t hard for people to get together for offline play (2v2 is very fun offline and scramble mode is bat-shit insane). As for Asuka, she really should have gotten a Makoto alt outfit.

online the sound issue is really annoying to be honest…

I thought the game would be great for Makoto with all those juggles.

i tried to get into this game but everything i like about makoto is missing from this game. i’m currently playing raven and hiehachi… i love raven though!

I’d just like to say that I miss my girly, and I’m missing Fukiage like nobody’s business. Seriously, screw cross-ups in SFxT, so stupid.

I quit SFxT and went back to SF4. It was like going home. I’ve had it with tag games.

And they finally come back home. <3 About time, boys.

YES!!! lets get the makoto train going! i’ll play sfxt again occasionally when the new characters are released and the glitch and infinites are patched. until then…i’ve been traiing hard with makoto and blanka is such a pain to deal with, nothing works like it should on this mofo.

Well I doubt this board will get back to the way it was before. Even with the projects still unfinished as they are, people have moved onto other things. In a perverse way, I hope SFxT falls off the face of the earth because 1) it lacks that special spark 2) timeouts are still too often even with the stuff Japanese players are comboing now 3) it takes away attention from what I feel are better games like SG and SF4.

I agree with Mossad before when he said there were some nice things like alpha counters and tighter input windows and such. But it doesn’t make up for what I see as inferior gameplay.

Just picked up this game as it was only released on Steam yesterday.
I think I like it right now but… Not sure who to play.
Was considering Asuka, Julia or Heihachi. Very uindecided… Not sure if my skills with Makoto translate to any of these characters yet. Suggestions?
Over on the SF side of the cast maybe I’ll try Rufus or some other rushdown machine.

Or maybe something totally different, perhaps Bison :stuck_out_tongue:

None of those characters are like Makoto. In fact, no one is really like Makoto. Heihachi is probably one of the closest because of how sick he is up close (confirm-able overhead and lows that are + frames on block and 2/5 the opponent’s life on hit!!!), but he lacks the defense, normals, dare I say mobility of Makoto, and ways of opening up his opponents.

Never have I felt like such a turd getting into cross-up range as I do with Heihachi. If they jump, he better be jumping as well, and air-to-airs never go well for me when everyone’s scrubbing it out with pre-emptive jumping attacks.

What’s up guys its been awhile. I played SFxT for a little bit, but the online lag got the best of me. few weeks and ithat was it. However:

I actually went with Jin/Xiao :). I play SFIV about once every few weeks now. Just with life and the kids and the wife… man I just don’t have a lot of time.

That and i’ve been playing other games lol to give myself a break. One thing though… when i came back i thought it would be like last time where it took me like 3 weeks to get back to 100%. I was playing pretty good after a couple of hours (no practice though lol). Just can’t play sfxt anymore…
