j/k, thanks very much. I’ll try to include them without overflowing the notes. I had some of those states in my personal frame data doc, but didn’t bother to transfer to this one since no other moves had crouching/standing states data.
EX Orchid Palm, from my experiment, was 1~32f projectile invincibility. It’s a charge move so it can be confusing, but if you do the move with negative edge it is from frame 1. I did this back when I wasn’t recording stuff so I might be wrong.
EDIT: Hopefully I can give you some answers for some of the confusion.
King can throw Snake walk forward with the standing only throw (I think it was Giant Swing). It doesn’t whiff when I tested just now.
Panther walk forward: I didn’t know this, but it seems like Lei is completely throw invulnerable when walking forward! Marduk’s SPD whiffs! He is considered crouching so standing only moves would whiff for sure.
King’s Tomahawk whiffs because while it is crouching only throw, King is still considered standing while active, and Lei’s Crane MP crushes standing attacks.
I might as well point out to for Raven that his Cr.mk is throw invunerbale at some point during it. also Julia acts like a large character while crouching. Certain moves that whiff crouchers but aren’t crouchable highs like Juri’s st.hp will hit Julia and other Large characters but not characters like Cammy or Ryu.
Capcom needs to get another patch in ASAP and fix this nonsense. a cr.mk tha’ts not airborne beating out throws? such nonsense and on top of that being able to thwart some launchers like bison’s and Juri’s…garbage…I want a new patch.
Might be worth noting in the document: Akuma can cancel his demon flip (regular OR ex) into EX Air Fireball sort of like the buff he got in AE2012 but without the requirement that he has to do EX Demon Flip.
Of course. Always, I love giving these kinds of info out. Actually I got a small question for ya street…
Juri’s j.hk can’t cross up normally on most standing characters…however…when they crouch it can cross-up on both hit and block…that means it’s a true cross-up still right?
That’s really weird. I’m not sure if I should classify that as a “true” cross-up, because it is an overhead to begin with.
It might just be that you hit on the front and then land on the other side when the opponents crouch, because their collision box shrinks when they crouch.
But the AI blocks it on the other side and you can clearly see the the block animation go reverse. My thoery was if the Ai blocks it in the opposite direction then it’s a true cross-up…least that’s what I’ve always assumed. Also I think the crouching hurtboxes increase since throwing range is increased against a crouching opponent.
AI block, unless you recorded it, is not entirely reliable I’m afraid. It’ll be more reliable if you recorded the jump and tried to crouch -> stand block it yourself.
I’ll try to cross it up. This is the game in which Cody can cross up with his j.HK so I wouldn’t be surprised if Juri’s j.HK can, even if it’s only against crouching opponents.
I crossed up with Codys j.hk in AE once… Im pretty damn sure i did, even though it was while the opponent was in his attack animation, which as we all know shifts hurtboxes around
The thing is I set the Ai to crouch block. He stands when he blocks the cross-up yet I end up on the other side anyway. Normally j.hk can’t cross-up on most standing characters.
Yea, so it all depends on your definition of cross-up.
If anything that lands behind is a cross-up, then Juri can do it with her j.HK (even tho I wasn’t able to do crouch -> stand block. I got it while doing some normal with the dummy). If it is anything in which you are forced to input the opposite direction to block, then Juri cannot do it with her j.HK.
Dummy with crouch + all block works in all weird ways possible, so I can guarantee you that will not be possible in a real match since it’s completely different from manual crouch to stand block.
you can crossup with MK/HK/HP on anyone in SF4 though the spacing is really strict for HK/HP. You can also crossup some characters with LK and a fewcharacters with MP(Gief/Hakan/Hawk and I think Gouken?). IIRC I think you can also crossup Hakan with LP but only Hakan and maybe Honda.
I don’t know whether it’s important but the note at Bryan’s Gatling combination says that it causes a hard knockdown. You can still hit the character by tag canceling though and get a re-stand. Same with Jin’s lunging low roubdhouse kick… It’s a weird mix of ground bounce and normal hard knockdown.
Edit: Sorry my phone didn’t show the post and I touched the post button a little too often. Where is the delete button?
