Pfft. Vulcan Hades yoshimitsu should be required watching for anyone who thinks he is a waste of space. As for Paul yeah he is pretty damn bad but even he serves a purpose and has his own gameplan most people overlook.
I’ve always been a firm believer that Gief was top 3 in SFxT. Super reliable AA (on the front of his body) and the best standing short OS in the game. Forget walk-forward jab spam, Gief’s walk-forward short ruins lives.
when a grappler doesn’t even need to grapple, you have problems. because the command throw becomes a luxury, not a necessity, which makes the character as a whole become super scary.
edit: also, are there any plans for an updated Brady guide? i hate trying to figure out what’s safe / unsafe in training mode by myself
I was playing as Ryu a second ago to see what kind of changes he got. Even with the nerfed air tatsu and joudan, I still think Ryu is a high-tier character based on how great his normals are and how easily he can deal damage with his links and Shoryu as a combo ender.
So just how big is the DLC and patch? I might be able to download it here but my internet atm (aka phone hotspot) is pretty ass, and I do not want it to go over my monthly download allotment.

Also it feel like its day one again. People complaining Elena does no damage when she isnt supposed to because shes an SF char. Lots of crying about Lars too when he has amazing normals and footsies.
So I was a low low low low C before the patch came out and now since the patch is online im beating a lot of high “B” rank players and even “A”. The players are still running Ryu X Ken teams or Ryu X Akuma but there tactics are the still the same even after the patch.
I feel like online ranked has become a LOT better. It feels like day one all over again but I have hopes that some of the BS has been cut out (cough…air tatsu…cough). I am able to actually test some stuff out and not feel like im being derped to death by Rolentos jab pressure.
Things have definitely taken a turn for the better. I remember I feared when Ken jumped in the air knowing it would lead into an air tatsu into launcher. Last night I can proudly say I fought a Ken player and laughed as he hopelessly tried to air tatsu me more than 6 times and each time fell short and was punished. I’m still tinkering around with the new characters. Guy and Sakura are looking pretty tempting as a team once I get the hang of them. Lei is said to be hard to get a hang of because of his many stances but I won a match or two with him first day using him. I use to main him in T3 and onwards so I’m glad he made it into the game. Not really any complaints from me, even though they took away my Raven cr.hp loop but it’s all good.
