Street Fighter x Tekken DLC/Balance patch: 7/31/2012

Well this is good. I still wish it was an option to not play people that use assist gems while they “supposedly” get use to the game but more meter being used is fine by me. The timer doesn’t really bother me that much and I’m shocked people are still activating quick combos by mistake…mash less? Can’t wait for the new characters because that means back to the lab again to see how they work and how to defend against them! :slight_smile:

Good news so far. I wonder how involved Dawgtanian is with these decisions.

I know people will still hate, but I’ve enjoyed this game since its launch. The DLC hitting consoles first is nice and it will assuage some of the soreness. My issue was never with it being on-disc, but that I had to wait for it. Now that I can get it before the Vita crowd, I’m pleased. The patch news is also great.

Actually there are 2 more things I would still like to see:

  1. Some buffs for Asuka, King, Kuma, Yoshimitsu and Paul. ------> we’ve seen a lot of nerfs so far but very little love for the bottom 5 chars.
  2. Alt costumes

And of course more stream time during major tournaments -------> at least top 16 fools! But that’s not Capcom’s call.

I don’t mash. I throw a standing short and buffer a Launcher. But the game often reads that as a quick combo so yeah it happens to me a lot.

Cody, Lars, Lei, damn EVERY NEW CHARACTER! I am so hyped for this, not too long to go now, people! Glad they didn’t nerf Lili, or change Ryu’s damage!

I might have to rock team UK, Steve/Dudley. Just to keep it classy! Wow, just wow. Auto bs nerf, new and exciting characters and no nerf for the EWGF, get HYPE!

I imagine we’ll probably get those last costumes on the 31st? Seems pointless to prolong it further if all the characters will be released by then. Also, there may be more balance changes that have not yet been reported? This is only the preliminary report so I wouldn’t be surprised. But honestly, I don’t think Akuma or Ryu should have had their tatsus nerfed. And Ken should definitely be given something to compensate for his nerf, its going to greatly hinder his effectiveness.

But seriously… they should just remove the autoblock gems at this point. That will bring integrity back into the gameplay online and maybe more people can actually learn the game.

Want to equip a autoblock gem? Here, have this block string and heavy pressure :slight_smile:

-A good anti-air that does 252 meterless minimum. 400+ if tag canceled
-A comboable airborne overhead that is low crush and +3 on block
-A great EX move vs fireballs
-A good backdash
-Decent footsies

Not saying the nerf won’t be bad for her. It will definitely hurt her and force Xiaoyu players to play smarter. But it’s not like she is total crap all of a sudden. She still has great tools that half of the cast would dream of having. I mean so many overheads need CH to combo and get blown up on block but Xiaoyu gets to combo for free and maintain pressure on block. Many characters have shit anti-airs that lose 70% of the time, trade 20% of the time or deal 90 damage 10% of the time. Xiaoyu gets to juggle for free without CH. Also having a good backdash is a great asset in this game.

I agree. This small nerf shouldn’t affect us Xiaoyu players. What you just stated is a great example of her fundamentals.

im not even saying shes bad , but its another nerf on a character that was never great to begin with

Like I said in general, I hope that’s not the entire list of balance changes as far as characters go. Paul can use some help in the speed department

But seriously, could someone inquire on Capcom Unity whether or not the PC version will be getting a ridiculously extended delay again? I would post myself but… I’m kind of… banned there <_<
