I thought that the HRAP layout was a MS requirement as well that MadCatz was bypassing somehow?
You may be right. Im just glad they did it.
I was once told the logic behind the 360 HRAP buttons layout and the difference between the layout of the TE sticks. The reason why Hori sticks are prone to have a wonky button layout is simply because it is not licensed to any specific game or something similar reasoning to it whereas the TE sticks are mainly licensed to Street Fighter IV so it has the universal button layout by default. Street Fighter X Tekken is the same idea.
Now I canāt confirm this simply because my Mushihimesama Futari HRAP.SE stick has the wonky button layout and I noticed that the BB TE stick follows the same pattern. My theory behind the wonky MS button layout was simply because the 360 is known for shmups and that button layout makes sense as well for Blazblue, being only a 4 button game.
MadCatz.
Itāll obviously be wired.
You can see in the shots with Daigo that the stick has a similar compartment for the cable on the front panel like the TE.
Also in the Hsien vs Daigo. Hsien plugs the wire in for Daigo!
Idk if you guys seen thisā¦
But yeah like d3v was saying. I was wondering if it would be a clam shell case too, didnt see any screws on the top.
Custom Artwork looks like it might be not as easy to do by the looks of it. I hope they make it black insted of redā¦ foreals.
But red is 3x faster!
wow, coloring things red makes them 3x faster? i gotta paint my shit box redā¦āsupā it up!
Right now,
Iād say Mad Catz DOES need to change the joystick case designā¦ as about many people as can be expected have probably bought the original TE. (Would not be surprised to see that design finally retired along with the TE-S.) Nice to see the design change involves more than lopping off the angled sides!
The people collecting these for collectorās sake will want to see the case and art style change. The rest of us satisfied with what we already have or looking elsewhere ā there are people who will never buy Mad Catz regardless --ā¦ it wonāt really matter. Iām on the fence until I see more of this design and a further development.
I think a narrower, wider case style is the way to go. Will it cause headaches for people who sell after-market custom parts (plexis, art services)? Yeah, but theyāre already dealing with at least a half-dozen joystick types including multiple HRAP subvariants so itās not as if one more design is going to make things that much more complicatedā¦
Two things would be nice to see in a production version of this stick. A deeper color for one ā either a darker fire engine red or black or white plastic that doesnāt yellow ā and maybe a sticker price more competitive with the Hori HRAP V3 SA.
What might get some more people to bite might be a Seimitsu parts edition of the joystick, too. I donāt expect to see that happen, thoughā¦
After watching the ReveLAtions streams, Iām excited to pick up my own MadCatz Divestick. Day one purchase for me!
I got to see this first hand at Revelations and iāve got to say this thing is pretty sick. It kind of reminds me of a hori. Iāll try to post up pics when i get back from Minnesota.
For some reason, this āPROā stick reminds me of those old Coke yoyos I played when I was young, where the āprofessionalā models were more plasticky looking but for performance, than the āsuperā ones that had a fancier clear heavy plastic edge but was more on looks.
I am waiting on More info about this stick. I got a lot of request to add this stick to my āWhat stick to buy?ā guide.
ReveLAUGHtions.
Also, I move for Mark to push for a special FightStick LAUGH edition.
The stick is not THAT bad but the bottom white parts looks butt ugly.
I donāt like sharp knees on women either.
