i loved how the crouch dash went under those hadoken. like a knife through butter.
Far more excited about the new MK than this game.
Indeed.
The game looks fucking awesome! It seems to be pretty promising no lie about that.
I will buy all these games. Hopefully they get the gameplay down properly!
I guess Darkstalkers really is not that popular if Ono chose another cross over game.
I wasn’t gonna do this anymore, I told myself, but… That’s not how a game engine works.
Engine is not gameplay and it is not graphical style. Engines are frameworks, skeletons of the game.
The engine doesn’t force models to look beefy or gameplay to be slow. Those things are totally customizable. I’m pretty sure you could recreate GGXX with Quake 1 models in the SFIV engine, if you wanted to.
This game clearly uses the SFIV engine and assets(the models and textures = the character/stage graphics = not an engine). This does NOT mean that it will neccesarily play like SFIV at all, though it might. It’s totally up to the designers, the use of the SFIV engine does not tie them down at all. But the more it’s like SFIV, the less work/time is going to be needed of course.
Oh God, here we go. It’s just like the Samurai Shodown 2 game is the best. Look man, unless you can provide valid points as to why it was fun or better than the other games in the series, then don’t talk about something you have no clue about.
Back on topic. Well, I’m wondering how this game is going to deal with all the fireball characters. It could become the fact that sf characters will dominate because of fireballs. Edit: I just read Souske’s post. Kaz’s CD went under the fireball? LOL! YES!
Other than that, I really don’t know what to think about the game. I’ll have to wait till it comes out I guess.
Roger vs. Dudley.
Match of da century.
Though indeed Roger uses their feet, better suited for Sagat or Adon, possibly. Blah. /childishexcitement
Has no clue because his opinion doesn’t line up with yours?
Give 'em different ways to get around fireballs… These posts make it sound like you’re screwed in SF if you don’t have a good fireball >.>
A Devil Jin vs Akuma teaser video is all I want to see. Thx
So as of right now am I to understand that the Namco developed counterpart, ‘Tekken x Streetfighter’ is still a rumour, with only the one game 100% confirmed?
Can people please stop saying it’s the SF4 engine/looks like SFIV. That’s like saying CVS2 looked like Alpha 1. Some of the assets are recycled but the gameplay looks significantly different, with chains, staggers, wall bounce, Rival School duos, double SRK and other combos suggesting it will play differently.
Also a game being in ‘alpha’ is much, much, much later down the dev line. The last game I worked on, our alpha was the milestone just prior to beta. In a two year dev cycle, the alpha came at about month 22 of the 24 or so months we spent on the game. This is the very, very first build.
Look, the camera-holding guy in the immediate background is copy pasted from the Korea stage on SSF4, right? It’s just to show off the concept and get hype.
Dan vs Gon!
Make it happen Namco
Even the onscreen data prior to loading says “build 0”
you know I am hyped for this. I am probably one of the few people who plays hardcore in Tekken and SF.
I am too HYPED. I am hyped for both games actually.
I now want Tekken vs VF. Wanted that for the longest lol.
I think both games are confirmed, this is from Gamespots liveblog of the conference:
Here’s a Famitsu interview with Ono (translated by Andriasang):
Yoshinori Ono Details Street Fighter x Tekken (andriasang.com, 07.25.2010)
So this means we’ll finally get a new Tekken Tag game… Just with SF characters too.
Fuck I’m hyped.
think youre being ignorant to what exactly an engine is
