Some from the YT comments, people speculate that the monk/crazy old man is Goutetsu’s brother that went mad. Apparently, the missing name plate at the dojo, he wears it. I’m trying to find a scene in which you can see the nameplate around his neck.
I don’t think there is one. IIRC Goma was created just for AF. He does strike a similarity to the grandfather character in Generations. There is an grandfather that is a practitioner of their style that fights and bests Ryu. He is Sayaka’s guardian in Generations.
This series is absolutely fantastic! From where I sit, this is about as flawless as a live action adaptation of Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Gouken as we’ll ever see. From the cinematography, fight choreography, and even the sort of shape all the actors were in for the roles, it was all practically perfect. I couldn’t be more delighted that talks have already begun for a season 2. I would love to see something with the Final Fight cast, but I know that any adaptation they choose to do for the traditional SFII canon will be absolutely stellar.
Excellent job to all involved. I can’t wait to see more.
I am on episode 3 right now. I shitted on this in the lounge because i just thought it would be cheesy nonsense, but this is pretty good for the budget and what not. A nice passion project. Happy to be wrong about this.
Since when has the Raging Demon actually killed anybody anyway? He just probably lucked out that Gotetsu was on pixel life and he got the throw in.
They got the US/NES version which came out in July of 1989 (Japan/Famicom version was out in December of 1988). Mega Man 3 didn’t come out for the NES until November 1990.
If anything, they knew that Rockman 2 was out but couldn’t do anything until the NES version came, which is why they were so excited.
That said, I wanna see how good Gouken is at the game.
Yeah, they keep screwing up the SGS. Bison has some X amount of bodies and his Seth army for back up bodies. Gill has resurrection. Gouken did some counter to it and survived being buried underground for two years. Capcom is really making Gouki look bad here.
Although the series does start off in 1989, I remember that at some point it said that one year had passed or some shit like that. That would make it 1990, the launch year for MM 3 (not gonna nitpick on which month, though).
