Street Fighter World Warrior | Resurrection | Assassin's Fist Thread

He was orginally from New Zealand, but most of his young life was spent in Australia when the family moved here. Needless to say, we Aussies have adopted him as we pretty much do with a lot of the talent that comes from NZ lol

What? They explained why it’s a bad idea. Satsui no hado is basically the dark side of the force. There’s always a yin and yang to everything. Gouki admitted during his training that his master was right in that the power will consume you, so the only option Gouki had left was to train and control it, otherwise he would die from it. From how I see it, you can harness the dark power but it destroys you mentally and physically. Controlling it would mean that you never succumb to it in the first place.

And physically, look at what it did to him. Shit warped him into a monster.

Its a force of nature, just because it exists doesnt necessarily means it can be controlled, everybody who tries loses their minds. It does seem however gouki could have been spared his horrible/badass fate if gotetsu just burned up the scrolls instead of leaving shit laying around. Same with Gouken and Ken.

Doesnt really do much good for Ryu since its in his blood but still, dmg control and all that.

That’s the other thing…all these scrolls should be completely destroyed like why even have it in print lol.

Akuma could have been avoided if the shit was just left in a safe or something.

Hahah well remember Gogetsu is evil and most likely has PTSD, Gouken was the one who invented the ‘safe’ way of generating hado.

Yeah that’s how I see it too. Because during Gotetsu’s time, there was war going on. I’m sure all the practitioners needed a way to tap into Satsui no Hado. Now in this new age, it seems more of just competition, training to be the best.

So my brother spotted another Easter egg [details=Spoiler] During the scene where they show the names of past Ansatsuken masters, Sheng Long is listed as Gotetsu’s predecessor. He was pretty disappointed when no Sheng Long made an appearance by the time the series ended, lol[/details]

I absolutely loved how you could totally see in Goutetsu, if he wanted to, in the blink of an eye, let
the Dark Hadou, take over, and obliterate anyone/everything in his path. That acting was priceless.

Hope some of you dudes caught that during the flashbacks when he calls forth a Hadouken, but puts it
back in his pocket: “Summon it like and ARMY, and DESTROY your opponent!”

Dayuuuuuum!

Hey man, once you black you never go back

Unless its prison, then you go back all the time.

Was there any canonical reason why akuma looked like a freak outside of the SF:AF explanation that the sado warps your body? Very warhammer 40k lol I like it. Gouki fucking with the powers of chaos and all.

Gotetsu philosophy was all about harnessing both sides and maintaining balance. The trade-off of course is that he’s never shown to be fully able to tap into it as far as Gouki can. He’s basically at a similar level to SFIV Ryu where he’s able to access moves using it.

His aim was most likely to teach the 2 brothers in the same manner, to allow them to use it but not be consumed by it. Ironic then that his two pupils actually went opposite paths. one fully embraced it and the other decided to forego it and create his own path.

By Gouken’s time, I’m sure he’s destroyed them (or at least sealed them away somewhere) save for the basics necessary to counteract it.

I wish there was a way to seriously say “Thank you” to the team involved in all of this. The amount of details and dedication that they put into this was incredible - for casual players of Street Fighter, there is a lot that would have went over their heads, but this team REALLY did everything they could to give a nod to all of the hardcore fans that do follow the Street Fighter story as close as possible. I am so thankful to be able to watch something that is accurate and complete.

One of my favorite parts of the Street Fighter storyline is the training and fighting of Ryu vs Ken in Street Fighter 1 and SF Alpha - I fondly remember the scenes in the original SF Animated Movie where Ryu reminisces about the battles and comradery between both of them. Those were my favorite scenes, and I was really happy when Ken’s Stage in Street Fighter EX 1 was in the original forest in Japan. Also, the scene where Ken gives his hairband to Ryu is important to me, it’s integral to the SF story.

I truly wish Capcom would put as much heart and dedication to the Street Fighter story, as this production crew.

A few random thoughts:

  • When Akuma came back, did he have geta on? I didn’t check (There were not too many full body shots of Akuma), but I know Young Goki left the doji wearing geta on his feet. SF Alpha Akuma didn’t have geta on, but SSF2X Akuma had geta on his feet.

  • I thought it was a bit funny that in this interpretation of Ryu’s battle vs Ken, that when losing, he used Satsui no Hado without even knowing it. 2 major battles, Ryu v Ken, Ryu v Sagat, where this happens.

  • I WOULD PAY FREAKING MONEY to watch this production crew to do their interpretation of SF3 Ryu vs SF3 Akuma. By SF3, SF3 Ryu does not have Satsui no Hado, and he is stronger than SNH Ryu could ever be.

Ryu uses a form of Satsui in his fight vs Bison/Dictator afaik or it could have just been a burst of rage.

So this will be converted to a 6 episode series on TV…that’s actually a solid idea I think. With seasons being only 6 episodes it will force them to be effecient and praticial with the pacing and devolpment. Instead of having to incorporate fillers or episodic content to increase the episode count they can just deliver on a solid concise experience.

I imagine it will also make producftion a lot simpler and help them maintain the momentum of the series without have to rush things or drag them out. A lot can be told in 6 episodes and they could easily go throw all the major arcs in this format.

So are they gonna do the Alpha, SF4 and SF3 era’s as well down the line?

Who knows. It all depends if season 2 does well enough (if they ever get to do season 2 that is), which i bet will be about the SF1 tournament.

The lack of Dan thru me off, SF1 tourney is indeed next then Alpha I would think.

Hope they get another season, this series was extremely well done. One of the best video game adaptions I’ve ever seen

To save time and money, Capcom could even create a movie with SF4 CGI assets, like the in-game cut scenes . The movie would look horrible of course but it would be quite popular…

Goutetsu is a badass old man. Rewatching it for the 3rd day in row. Aside from the fights, my favorite moments are when Ken taps into the SNH, any scene that shows off Goutetsu’s Assassin’s Fist katas, and Gouki’s training. The music is great too. I downloaded Gouki vs Gouken and Gouki vs Goutetsu this morning before going to work.
