Street Fighter V Lounge "We on South Central crack addict status"

I really doubt after the way Capcom handled DP’s in USF4 that they’ll be safe in SFV. Also, perhaps there is a follow up, but Mike or Daigo never demonstrated it?

I just pray no Evil, Violent, or Awakened versions of characters EVER make it in as a cheap alternative to making a new character.

Damn so much Viper hate, she’s awesome i don’t get it, besides the “derp” play style.

He asked for Retsu? Uhh, no, we don’t need anymore old men. Seriously, who would have Retsu on their phone wall paper, or computer wall paper…
Alex without a doubt is getting into SF5, what’s their to debate? He destroyed the popularity poll, and he hasn’t been in a single game recent game, well Tatsunoko vs Capcom, but still.
Nice Cvs2 training stage music.

Agree, but tbh is more or less the direction they took with sf4:

Abel = fighter tribute = Fedor Emelianenko

Elf/Juri/Hakan= character that represent country+national style

Rufus= social parody (obese murrican, biker style) and martial arts inside joke (the mcdojo western clumsy dude that use some super asian style a la white ninja or whatever was called that movie)

C.Viper= maybe the strangest and less SFish, but still have some design logic/reference behind it: a classic stereotype(american CIA agent), a coherent style(no world class martial art champ, but tech gadgets to put her on equal level), a celebrity appearence as Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider and Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Gouken= Coherent with SF world

Seth= Coherent with SF world, you have shadoloo cyborg/whatever with that look in SF anime/manga way before SF4 (still a ugly boss, but not unSFish)

E.Ryu/Oni/Decapre= cheap shit, but kinda coherent. E.Ryu in particular was already a well established character (even if his look is kinda overdone imho). Decapre kinda existed too

So in some way SF4 kinda keept it loyal to SF classic style
Hopefully they will do it again, and for my tastes i hope they push ever more on famous fighters/martial classic/national feeling… but i don’t know, tbh i was already suprised about how ballsy they was at avoid less coherent cheap sure-money designs

I don’t now, as now we have no hint at all about SFV art direction in that sense

And that’s why professional chara designers and art directors with knowledge about how to build a cast should never ever ever hear, be infected or give fucks about “fans” opinion

Of course i know that are “fans” money to keep it alive
And no, i don’t like/want Retsu in

Same company but different people .
The " fathers " of Street fighter , Noritaka Funamizu & Yoshiki Okamoto left Capcom long time ago ( 03 for Okamoto , 04 for Funamizu ) .
The actual Capcom will never do better than Alpha 3 and 3rd Strike .
We can also say they will never approach their quality , Street Fighter 4 is the perfect example ( surfing on the nostalgic vibe , no inspiration , no innovation … ) .

That wouldn’t be FADC SRK. That’d be more like SRK xx Super which is pretty standard even if it’s safe on block. Look at Akuma in 3S doing DP to fireball super (Super art 1 I believe). It might not have been 100% safe, but it’s safER than not having canceled the SRK.

Also I’d be fine if Seth made it in either as an unplayable character/boss/sub-boss, or maybe as a training mode dummy like Mokujin in Tekken. Where you could give him any normals, specials, and supers, but he’d never be tournament legal. Really the only way Seth is going to be in is either if Bison is also in, or Bison’s essence was put into Seth’s body (Since that was the plan and concept behind the bosses stories in 4).

You’re surprised by SRK hate? C’mon dude we both play SFxT…

There will always be hate. No matter what community it is.

The hate isn’t unreasonable. The game currently looks awful.

And all that is out there to base it on is what they’ve shown us.

Are people supposed to be talking about some other version of the game that doesn’t yet exist?

PSA: Someone disagreeing with you (not the guy I quoted, just in general I mean) doesn’t make them a hater. People need to learn wtf that word even means.

Feedback is good, since it’s what helps the developers refine the game.

That said, not all feedback is good. Stuff like “OMG Chun is broken” and “this looks like trash” isn’t really constructive. The first one especially since making balance calls off one match of a game no one here has played is flat out stupid.

Especially since there wre several options daigo didnt even try.

• He tried jumping in between, from fullscreen it takes approximately 2 jumps with the second one already hitting. Recovery one single kikogen is awesome, but on those double shots it’s atrocious… basically teasing you to jump in on her

• Tatsumaki, they may be slower now, but from midscreen that should be perfectly viable

• counter fireball game, Ryu needs one bar less than chun to power up his fireball game for the rest of the match to (at least) go neutral vs chuns fireball game. One more power up and he shuts down this “broken” stuff from chun completely

And about chun lis “meter building”. Fireballs build a ton of meter in this game… ON HIT. Spamming fireballs that get blocked or jumped/ avoided builds almost no meter. Daigo got hit by several fireballs and lost ~30% life because of that, pushing chuns meter absurdly.

I don’t get people that say this game looks terrible. You’ve seen it like twice. With only 2 characters. Stop being a bummer. :expressionless:

On a lighter note~
Getting Alex, Oros sick ass ex supers, and Akuma being able to go Shin (f*ck Oni) mid-match would make my year.

Here’s hoping they’ll bring back SF2 damage fireballs for SFV. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Ryu killed you off 5-6 fireballs? On the note of fireball throwers and zoners, can we expect Ken and Akuma to have a buffed fireball game like Ryu and Chun? If they’re in, that is.

Well, hard to say actually… chunli doesnt get 3 fireballs when she charges up a second time so… really though call there, I guess every fireball char gets 2hits (at least while in their respective mode) for their fireballs.
But oh well, we still dont fully grasp the effect that those modes have, apperantly every one is different, which is awesome btw

Maybe Ken will get a slower EX Hado? Or perhaps he will gain a red Fireball similar to Ryu’s EX Hado in the SF4 series?

Whatever Ken gets for his fireball (that is, if he’s really in), it probably is only active during his mode, I feel like Ryu is the only character that will permanently boost his fireball game with each activation of his mode. Ken will more likely boost the damage on his uppercuts or something like that.

Also, since Charlies confirmation and his Illuminati gem on his forehead, I’m intrigued if Urien really does make it in … I would imagine his mode evolving around juggle ability, the more activations he had, the more juggle hits he can land (with “revenge” being the aegis reflector that adds +0 to the juggle count per hit)

All just theory though

I think, once we see Charlies reveal trailer / gameplay we’ll have a way better understanding about modes and possibly their connection to the amount of ex bars (will there be a char with only one ex bar that is heavily dependant on modes? will there be one with 4 bars?)

One thing i noticed is that in Daigo-Gamerbee match (and also in the announcement ones iirc) there is no sign of Ryu’s “karate stance” that’s possible see for few seconds in the first videos

at 0:32 and 0:39 is easy to see it

I know a dude like Daigo is more likely to just do stuff he know instead search/experiment shit searching new stuff for the audience, but i still find strange how they did’nt keept it secret but at the same time nobody bothered to show it (example during the ross-combofiend rounds)

Hope they did’nt cut it, it look cool and the more classic characters get new fresh stuff the better it is imho
