You have to remember though that, based on the footage we saw, jabs seem to be terrible in this game. So at the very least, it looks like we won’t have a repeat of “Super Jab Jab Fighter IV”.
With the slight chip on normals, I think that they’re trying to punish blocking too hard in the same manner as guard meter does, but without necessarily allowing for meter based guard breaks.
The other thing, considering how much stun counterhits seem to give, I figure that they’re trying to encourage more poking and counter-poking in this game.
Yeah, you have a point. I didn’t so much mind the Jabs in SF4 as they should be your faster attacks. I appreciated in SF3 where Jab and Short linked/chained, but even more in Alpha 2 where you could link/chain the 2 and cancel into a special or super. It’ll be interesting if they keep it this way, and it doesn’t look like blocked normals take off all that much recoverable health anyway. It does promote your opponent to go on the offense to get that health back.
Am cool with Most of the game so far but for the love of the good Lord give Ryu a different look for once make his hair long . Come on Capcom enough wit this stupid street fighter 3 look he has already we all hate it .Its supposed to be a brand new Street Fighter that means make your character’s evolve like a certain fighting game called Guilty Gear
I don’t know why people are calling for Capcom to change the look of certain characters knowing good and damn well that they’re gonna cry foul if Ryu isn’t in his unwashed gi (that nobody actually hates).
I see your point, but you have to consider that the difference between those iconic characters is that Street Fighter has a more central story. Sagat has a scar on his chest, we learn it was from Ryu’s Dragon Punch. A small detail like that adds a ton of personality to the game.
I agree with Vesper. Even a small detail like giving Ryu a beard, a stubble, beads, whatever can make a big difference and imply progress and passing of time in subtle ways. It would be no different than giving Ken a haircut after Alpha. It would make the characters feel more organic instead of static creations.
No one is asking for a complete overhaul of their designs. Just some changes but keeping with the theme of the character.
For example, imagine an Akuma with the top part of his gi torn off, and his body is scarred (self inflicted) with japanese symbols like the ten symbol burned into skin. A design like this for example is like a transitional look between current Akuma and Oni. This also wouldn’t be a complete overhaul like I said and would be consistent with the theme of the character.
The same idea can be carried over to every old character, just small changes can be enough.
People who have no idea about Street Fighter’s story can easily identify Ryu just by his outfit. Heck, back in the day, his silhouette was synonymous with Capcom and he’s almost come to the same level once again. Heck, I know parents who have never touched a Street Fighter past SFII (let alone gotten back with IV) who’re dressing their kids up as Ryu and Chun Li for Halloween.
Changing his look actually risks alienating people who might not be able to identify that that person was Ryu.
I see one of those that did was @SoVi3t
Man, I knew you were into some freaky shit, but Oro’s man sausage?
Plus, is a 3D Street Fighter, is going to get Alts for those tired of the canonic look…
First 3 waves of DLC costumes of SF4 are actually good stuff, specially 2nd and 3rd, only last two (shittyUdon and furries) mostly suck
Also, half OT
COLOR EDIT please
With option to see them as default color online to avoid people’s fluorescent pink/green troll bullshit and theyr BLACK-RED zomg so badassevildemon version of XXX character
As long i will be saved from that risk, i will like A LOT get color edit
There’s no actual proof of that, just speculation on the commentators’ part at this point. SBK still looks like a charge move and as far as the other moves go, other than maybe the air special, the match video doesn’t even show a situation where she could not have been holding a charge before executing the moves (even an instance of throwing a fireball while standing the entire time… which would imply a charge move).
I don’t care either way, I’d still play her (most of the time she’s a mix of different types of move inputs with people mainly being fixated on how you have to input her fireball or super), but I’m watching these videos very closely to see what changes I’d have to adjust to.
From the stage demo, it looks like at the very least, she’ll use QCF for fireballs and a motion for Lightning Legs, like SFxT. That said, there’s one bit where Peter seems to do SBK from a standing position.
I dislike this a lot. Chun without piano input isn’t a fun chun. It’s part of the fun to me at least, doin’ the piano… I mean it changes from every other special moves.
Meh, I’m fine with it if it’s true since it means more consistent confirms off low forward. That said, they could do it like Millia from Guilty Gear where she can do both piano and motion.
