The moral is that the connection is based on whose set up is worst. If I’m wired or have a strong wifi signal and you have a 3 story home and a weak wifi connection, the match will lag. Doesn’t matter how robust my your setup is, the worst of the 2 connections will dictate how the game plays. The best you can do is make sure your setup is the best it can be.
If you can’t plug in directly to your router or if your setup is giving you a weak wifi signal, I high suggest everyone invest in one of these:
Glad to see you being an idiot extends beyond Konami.
Alex Valle, LI Joe, and Gooteks were all on among others for hours last night.
Are they likely being approved via someone internally at capcom, yeah probably but look at what they are doing with their time.
Educating you ungrateful bums.
This is a joke right?
Speed isn’t really the issue, if working at the lowest levels it can be an issue but most cable/fios/upper limit dsl it’s not going to be an issue.
Wifi is shit due to stability, 99% of wifi wont have a static ip or properly configured routers.
Likely running on the common band channels( if you want to see how badly configured yours is try downloading and running Inssider) not to mention all the random crap like a plane flying overhead, a non transmittable surface(this can include security doors etc) entering the transmission pathways even for a short period or even a damn leaf blowing in the wind that can cause your drop offs.
The short answer is your wifi in it’s current form will never rival a wired connection and no anecdotal (well it worked this one time for my cousins uncles tranny sister while in Bosnia) will dispute this fact.
Dont play fighting games on a wifi connect unless you want to be a total dick.
I didn’t get on yesterday but all my matches with the exception of a Canadian and fellow USA player. All matches were very solid in connection
Even the two I had with European players (Germany, Spain)
Granite I do have a wired 50 mg connection
It’s the highest DL/UL rate I can get from my server. They claimed it was enough to run a small hotel. I laughed and said you don’t know my demands.
streaming, gaming and browsing at the same time. System does it flawlessly for sure!
WiFi should NEVER be used for gaming…or anything else.
Beyond that, I wish the beta came back again today. I’m actually off work.
Been watching Gooteck’s archived vids though and he’s got a lot of good stuff. I recommend people check it out really.
He’s got me convinced to start with Ryu even known I’ve been playing Chun and would rather play Chun. He’s right, gotta learn the character the game is based on first.
Gootecks basically proposed this in his video and it was in the context of the SF4 series:
He said start with Ryu then learn Ken. Then go for a charge character he recommended Balrog then a grappler, Geif then a defensive character Guile then learn a mix up character or new character he recommended Rufus to hit both.
Of the characters listed what would a good pipeline be?
Ryu, Ken, Chun/Bison, (we don’t have a true grappler yet), So Necali then Cammy or Vega?
I like Gooteck’s theory a lot and I’m definitely taking the time to check out every character this time around.
I don’t think you need to go quite so far afield learning all of those right away in that order but I would advise anyone to at least learn a bit of ryu before trying to find a main.
