Damn… Valle got that infinite training room time and I barely had 10 seconds between matches. Still have no idea how to play Nash because of it.
Lol Gootecks is also in. Capcom confirmed whitelisting FGC members for the beta
nobody should get any special treatment. let us all play or gtfo.
I’ve done well with Nash without much training room time. Watching @Killey Nash video pre-beta helped a lot. Knew most of his good buttons before diving in.
motherfuckers on wifi I swear to god
white list continues to be real as fuck
Wifi don’t mean nearly as much as the armchair internet network experts think it does.
I have played SF5 on wifi and wired and there is absolutely no discernible difference. There is good and bad games on both. And the bad is BAD on both.
Hell the video I linked earlier was on wired connection and was one of the worst, if not the worst, match of SF5 I’ve had.
Wired is so much more consistent tho, you basically know it’s purely netcode/distance based and not you fault.
Not disagreeing with you on that, but people act like wifi has hiccups for 95% of the match, when that simply is not true.
I played SF4 on wifi for like 3 years due to logistics and when I went wired after that it was hardly any differences. Only real difference was those lag spikes mid-match would happen less frequently than they did on wifi. But on wifi, they would happen like once every hundred matches or something ridiculous, not 30 times a match like people make it out to sound like it happens.
It’s kind of like how people think that having ridiculously fast internet really makes a difference with netplay, when that simply isn’t the case.
do you have any pings or numbers or is this just a bunch of defensive cog-dis bullshit from a wifi cancer player
Someone needs to chill out.
Lol definitely relax…
The difference between Wired and Wifi isn’t as big as people make out (weird this fuss about wifi has come up a lot recently). I wouldn’t give the person the credit of saying that their issue is using Wifi, straight up their connection just sucks.
When I first switched to Fibre I had to go Wireless for the first few months, I didn’t tell any of my friends at the time and when we ran online sets, they either noticed no difference or had told me my connection had improved since I switched. Now I’m back to Wired, the differences are unnoticeable. To relate it to this game, my brother’s PS4 is on Wireless (because my room has the router obviously) and during the first phase of the stress tests, his matches vs Americans were playable.
The most important figure is and will always be Ping. When ours is at 10ms, assuming the connection is solid on the other player’s end and the game has reasonable netcode (not MKX), then the match should be playable for online standards, regardless of Wired or not.
Nope, packet loss is just as important, if not more. And it turns out wireless is known for being unstable when it comes to loss.
^ I don’t disagree actually. Though high ping would result in slowdown equally as much as loss of packet data… Either way I just checked my packet loss on wireless and I’m at 0% lol. All I’m saying is you can’t insult wifi users as a whole when there are wifi users with superior connection stability
Actually, only high ping would result in input delay, since input delay is calculated from ping times. Loss of packet data would only result in rollbacks and/or stuttering since input delay does not change mid match.
why did no one message me about this yall the worst friends
Wireless not that bad? It’s horrible. Use wired. Period.
my wifi is better than your wired.
I have played Killer Instinct and Rising Thunder with NO lag at all on my Wifi. Don’t start making excuses for how bad the netcode is right now on SF5. Seems like “wifi connection” is going to be the new scapegoat for why the online is bad.
I think the biggest problem is low upload speed. There are probably people out there playing with less than 1MB upload and that will wreck you for online play. You don’t need a lot of upload, but if you’re nearing DSL levels of upload speed you’re going to have trouble.
Other than that, yes netcode is the most important factor and why when Capcom optimizes this rollback code it should be pretty strong. I’m assuming they are just running into a lot of technical difficulties with the beta and/or we are playing people from long distances/poor uploads.

do you have any pings or numbers or is this just a bunch of defensive cog-dis bullshit from a wifi cancer player
Great strawman argument you have there.
The fact that you think ping changes based on wifi/wired connections just shows how clueless you are about it all anyways. No need to try and have a real discussion about it with someone such as yourself.
The past 3 years I’ve been running wired with all of my online games. It wasn’t up until about a month ago I brought up my consoles to my family room so I could watch my infant while I played some games as he slept or hung out in the same room.
Playing Killer Instinct on wifi about 4 times over the past month is identical to the experience I’ve had playing it on wired the past 2 years. It’s incredible about 99% of the time.
Playing SF5 for about 5 hours on wifi was the same experience as it was for an hour on wired that I tried last night. It has terrible connections on wired and wifi, and has good connections on wired and wifi.
