I also think she is mid tier. The majority of Laura players just don’t know how to use her fireballs and her reset potential properly. For example she beats Gief so hard, that I (and I am not even really good with her) haven’t lost against a Gief yet (even top 300 Gief players).
I think it’s so so. Could go either way, especially with how long it takes to KO him.
Ryu is another one I think is quite difficult, when played well he can keep Laura out effectively, whilst being able to dish out some grown ass man damage.
Karin and Chun, though. They both seem so much harder to fight against than anyone else. I have less trouble against the worlds gimmickiest Rashid than a Karin that just know the movelist and how to use her forward buttons.
I just got removed & blocked on Steam by a friend of one year because he said Bison was the worst character in the game and Ken is top 3.
My jaw cannot get any closer to the floor, was our friendship THAT MEANINGLESS?? I can’t see Bison being worse than top 5, he’s super strong. His reasoning was that his tick throw game was bad, I argued dash > throw is just as strong if you use it correctly. He didn’t say why Ryu/Ken were top 3, he just said “Still talking?” and blocked me.
The salt. Oh my lord. I have been betrayed because of tiers.
You gotta make them salty. If your character isn’t making them salty they’re not good enough. Then you have to go up the tier list until you make them salty. Then you’re ready for Evo.
Ken is good. It’s just the idiots who can’t get over the fact that his run is unsafe who fail at adapting and keep doing run xx s.mk and SHOOOORYUUUUKEN who fail at being good with him. EX dp and EX jump tatsu can punish from like beyond mid screen too…since when has ken been able to zone at that range?!
I think it’s the stubby normals that are putting most people off, and the fireball being how it is now too. I don’t think you’re punishing anything with a jump EX tatsu either unless you’re already in the air, in which case he’s always been able to do that; there was a trick to getting extended range on his EX air tatsu in IV if you plinked into it. Ken is good - strong mid/upper-mid in my eyes, I just don’t see the top 3 argument.
Lol. Do you mean talk about how good she is? I really don’t know what to do vs her rushdown. Spiral arrow leaves her in your face to continue pressure.
I guess I have to read up on her frame data because I feel like i’m just frametrapped for life. How safe are her blocked cannon strikes? I was struggling vs her with Karin because I can’t AA them.
Regular strikes are pretty much always negative so you can challenge it (also why Poongko randomly does DP after them), just press a button afterwards and ocasionally throw. EX is always positive even if it hits at the top of your head.
The hitbox is also incredibly bad. A stand jab with Karin will probably check her hooligan cancels from normals.
Oh and specially midscreen don’t bother teching her throws. If you get thrown you’re out of pressure whereas a spiral arrow combo does more damage and keeps you in the pain train. In the corner I think she might get meaty setups after her throw if she cancels the transition frames of back throw.
Mandatory you mean cannon strike. Spiral arrow is the combo ender move that passes fireballs and whatnot.
Canon strikes also have a ridiculously, hilariously bad hit and hurtboxes this time around. You can jab Cammy out of any divekick if you know what you’re doing. Same goes for hooligan and vskill. Always challenge it if you have the reflexes. If you’re afraid of the double knee, don’t be. It’s negative, has a long startup and is not airborne (can be grabbed, loses to lows).
Cammy is a character with great footsies and AA tools but there’s no real reason for you to stop blocking. Her throw means back to neutral, she has no overhead and all “which side” mixups lose to jab. Besides, worst hp/stun in the game so eating a reversal hurts and is really scary this time around.
It’s funny seeing people being afraid of the exact same areas we Cammy mains think she lacks in :pirate:
