Street Fighter IV Match Videos: Top Players (+ 2009 US & World Champ Vids)

Seth is overpowered end of story. Even the makers of the game are saying so, HE’S OVERPOWERED!!! Nobody is obsessed with it it’s just a FACT, even though he takes more damage, getting inside is no easy task. But once you do get in Seth is toast. There’s also a reason Sagat is at the top of the tier, but it is what it is.

Seth isnt overpowered period. And we know capcom probably they mean Arcade Seth is overpowered.

EVO’s SF4 tourney is gonna be 1000+ players.
The prize money is split 70-20-10.
That gives players HUGE incentive to bring their best game and their best chance to win.

If Seth is truly top tier, then we should see him at the finish line.

Is Seth overpowered or not?
Either way, we’ll all know after this weekend.

No they definitely don’t mean arcade seth is overpowered.

I still think that quote is being kind of misinterpreted though. The dude never even said “Sagat and Seth are overpowered.” he just said they’re more powerful than expected. IMO that means Sagat was meant to be balanced but he was too powerful, and Seth was meant to suck but he doesn’t suck. That’s it. Either way, as long as Seth isn’t better than Sagat, we can’t say he needs to be banned.

So far in terms of USA Seth players…we have Arturo, and that’s pretty much it. No one has proven that they can win giant tourneys with the guy. Art himself that he doesn’t really like playing Seth against characters with dragon punches…which just shows you how “overpowered” he is.

To even play Seth at the level theorized in the tier list would be SO DAMN HARD. This is why you can’t just pick Seth, learn a couple of tricks, and start winning games like you can with some of the other top tier characters. He’s like Akuma on steroids. I’d say you can make about ONE mistake per round if you expect to win, if even that many.

^ this.

With Seth you have VERY little room for error, kind of like with Akuma but much much less room. This is a powerful yet extremely complex character to use, that’s why you don’t see top players winning tourneys with him, not yet. It is just too early. Once meticulous, execution-masters get a hold of Seth and really get serious with him, I can see Seth being a finalist in most tourneys.

Also keep in mind Seth is 100% keep-away and anti-risk character, you are on the defensive all the time pretty much. I think he will possibly be one of the most viable console/new characters in the near future once top players really exploit his style.

I think if we saw some Japanese phenom use Seth we’d see how beastly he could be but since they play on nothing but cabs Seth was never an option over there, so people have only been using Seth since the console releases. Even so his health is just too low not to ignore.

They don’t meant arcade seth, arcade seth is a joke, however human controlled seth is, he just doesn’t get used in the arcade cause he’s absent from the roster. But he’s definitely overpowered but not top tier. But definitely overpowered, period.

Youtube channel that has all the SF4 fights spaced out

That’s some great stuff, I’ve been looking for a place with all the videos.

By chance, does anyone know a place with better quality? Everywhere I look people just have poorly streamed quality :frowning:

Some great matches at evo this year. I logged on just when J.Wong chose Abel and lost, then came back with a nasty Balrog to almost win it. It was pretty intense, even on the stream. Wong was making 'Rog look like Ali dancing back and forth, it was nuts! I think if he had gone with Rog from the start he would have really been confident in the last match. Plus I think he took himself out of the “gaming zone” when he got up and talked to the crowd in the middle of that match. Pretty funny how Daigo barely even takes his eyes off the screen when Wong starts running around like that haha.

Evo was amazing.

Daigo has nerves of steel. The entire stream, his facial expression did not change, and he didn’t look away from the screen. Even when 4,000 people were behind him cheering for him to lose, he just kept staring at the screen.

The only way to get better quality videos is to subscribe to IGN insider

I did, they haven’t uploaded anything yet.

When is IGN going to have their videos up?

All the videos I have seen so far on you tube are choppy as hell.

IGN will have videos available to download or view on friday.

Well that’s good news for me!

Not that big a resolution but its clear enough to watch.
