Street Fighter IV - Different performance on monitors or OS..?

Hi,

I have been playing Street Fighter IV on two different monitors/computers with different OS, one with Windows XP 32bit and one with Windows Vista 64bit. Im using an old Syncmaster 957 Samsung on the computer with XP and a Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA (http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...hs1&sku=198660) on the Vista OS. The performance on the computer with XP and Syncmaster monitor is flawless. But there is something thats bugging me on the other computer with Vista and Dell Ultrasharp. I get the feeling that the movement of the characters is slightly delayed, and its even worse online. Im not 100% though, it might be something that Im just imagining… Did anyone else experience the same thing with Dellultrasharp or Vista?

The ports are open, and I have framerate on Fixed. Im using the same controller and the same graphic settings on both computers. I have noticed an improvement by turning off V-sync but its so little that I cant be sure about it.

Edit: What is Parallel processing option? Should it be turned off or on?

It might be that Im just imagining these slight delay in movements but I want to know for sure since Im playing on a professional level. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Jimmysson

Easy: LCD lag.

Yeah, but I might be imagining the delay because its barely noticeable, its so hard to tell.

Are there any LCD monitors out in the market that doesnt have any lag? Which one should I buy, if this is the case…

This monitor is freaking godlike, but it seems newegg is out of stock.

Most LCDs will have lag of some sort.

it has to do with the refresh rate of the monitors, crt monitors tend to have a higher refresh rate than lcd ones, thus giving you more frames per second, which in turn gives you a smoother gameplay. However, most of the newer lcd’s are coming up to par with the old crt refresh rates. I used to have a samsung syncmaster 997b with a refresh rate of 120Hz… which was amazing for gaming.

For the LCD monitor, try going into the video card driver settings, and look for your monitor refresh rate… most of them are usually around 60Hz, and then try to see if you can increase it. If you can do that, I am pretty sure you will notice a increase in performance.

Refresh rate has nothing to do with input lag, and FPS has nothing to do with what the OP is talking about.

to eliminate lag you only need a monitor with the same screen resolution as the signal being sent by your gaming console
XBOX= 1920x1080 ; So just get a monitor that is 1080p with 1920x1080 resolution

That often reduces lag but does not necessarily eliminate it. It comes down to each individual monitor/television.

Any difference with Aero turned off?

i experience the same thing with 7

I switch from windows 7 32bits to windows 7 64bits and I get some really noticeable input lag from my joystick now or from my screen could be either and it is really noticeable online too.

Everyone speaking of 120Hz-60Hz above is off topic we are speaking of delays in the range of the 160 ms a switch from 120 hz to 60 hz would range in the 7ms ( and my monitor can run the game in both modes anyway and has around 0.5-1.5 ms response time),

It is something caused by the OS or the motherboard I d say so if anyone had a similar experience and solved it I am all ears.
