To my understanding, this is what Mauricio said -
Mike got the room for free. The tournament was “very successful.” Because it was so successful, Mike decided to pay MGL $50. He has not yet paid MGL this amount, but Mauricio says that Mike said he’d come by and pay it.
Which raises the following questions -
-Why didn’t Mike just give him the $50.00 the day of the tourney as opposed to at a later date?
-Why does Mike need a receipt if he is simply giving them $50.00 as a thank you/for being so successful?
-If there wasn’t going to be a room fee in the first place, why was it included in the venue fee breakdown?
It sounds to me like Mike wanted to pocket that $50.00 but no longer could when people started noticing something fishy, so he decided to pay MGL $50.00 to make it look like he paid for the room - when he didn’t, which Mauricio makes perfectly clear. Alternatively, Mike planned on giving MGL $50 all along, but didn’t tell us for some inane reason. I don’t think so, though.
Mike has some explaining to do either way.

edit: A lot of the reason for our bitching is because of how shady things were when I asked a basic question. You took shit on a personal level when I just expected a simple answer. I don’t need to know how much money you make taking a shit or brushing you teeth , cuz in the grand scheme of things if you think making $24,000 a year is doing it big, then more power to you. For some reason you keep changing your story on how you had to pay for equipment when you first replied to me, then out of no where you said you had to pay MGL as well and that’s where shit starts getting suspicious.
The same shit was happening during the SJSU tourny when all we wanted to know was how much was actually going into the prize pool and they wouldnt respond. Long story short they eventually told us half the buy in was going to prize. We understood exactly where the money was going and it went pretty smoothly from there.
