The Best of North CAL Street fighter IV teams tournament will begin at 6:30 P.M. sharp in the party room.

Multiple XBOX CONSOLES and TVs (aiming to put 5 XBOX 360 consoles and TVs…However more would be appreciated. PM me and i will gladly compensate)

Signups and casual play will begin from 5:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. (the start of tournament)

I will be selling ice cold beverages!!!(your purchase will be treated as a donation for my cause in buying better equipment for the community to use.)

Some constructive criticism to think about:

I would consider having only one tournament and starting a bit later. Some people work or have classes on fridays and don’t get out of commitments early enough to make a 4pm weekday tournament.

Also I think the general consensus of the regulars in the bay area is that MGL is not worth 50% of the cash being thrown around.

You may get more support and a bigger turnout for a single tournament, later start time, and maybe change the fee… No idea for sure, but it is something to think about.

MGL hasn’t been very friendly to the video game community for a very long time and I think many regulars have become very unsupportive of that establishment.

4pm on a weekday seems miserable for those that actually have jobs and even if it doesn’t technically start til 5, that’s really pushing it.

It’s awesome to hear that there’s going to be a tournament at MGL again. I can’t even remember the last time MGL had a big event for any game, it must have been years. Mike, I think it’ll be fine since everyone complains about the controls on the cabinets. But they’re using Xbox setups with byoc and only IV is being played. And imo, mgl has been making good improvements to work with the community. They did get the cabinets instead of ignoring everyone, albeit it took some time and I blame the people who scrub the buttons moreso than the management after reading about the broken parts every other day.

Blanka707, if I can go back home for that weekend, I’d be willing to help out.

Hey Blanka707, what’s the entry fee, I think you edited it out of your post? Also does anyone know if MGL charged venue fees before? Now that I’m thinking about it, I don’t remember them doing that. Is it because these are console setups?

why would there be a venue fee for consoles? If we were playing on the legit cabinets and stopping their business I would understand the need for a venue fee

But we’re driving traffic to MGL with all the hype and STILL have to pay to play on console? I understand the registration fee, but I don’t really get venue fee TBH

The major reason i have to put $5 toward tournament fees this time is this: I have to reinburse all the people lending their x boxs, tvs, equipment etc.(THANK YOU GUYS BY THE WAY). I will be running more than 5 set-ups this time and i have to give a major cut to the people helping me out. We will also be using the party room so we have to pay for cleaning, crew etc. Unless you want to clean the whole place up for free and bring 5-6 xboxs and tvs and pay the owner for issurance i dont see the need for the tournament fee. If you can do this let me know.

i’m not familiar with “a-cho” but pokemon is prolly the fastest method and since its’ two tournies in one day, you’ll probably want to go with whichever is fastest.
