AMEN brotha! lol, but seriously, I believe UDON should work faster, I mean, they could restate that they release a comic every 6 months, so people won’t wait every month for a new one. That’d be cool.
I’ve long ago come to the realization that it really isn’t a monthly comic. They are struggling with even having quarterly releases. I really think we should get rid of this forum and just create a stickied SF Comic thread in Gen Disc. An entire forum for this comic is ridiculous. Either people complain that the comic doesn’t get released or there are no posts here for weeks.

I don’t see where Erik said the book isn’t selling well.
You made a snarky comment about the book being late and not coming out.
Erik responds with why the book hasn’t come out yet, despite being done for some time.
You then try to lay the responsiblity for the late shipping at his feet, regardless that it’s clearly Diamond’s fault, saying that it’s their fault for not getting the book done faster.
Which is in no way any relation to Diamond’s shipping policy.
And where do YOU see the numbers falling? Site your source because last I checked they were holding steady around 20k.

Your kidding me right??? everyone knows that diamond releases the numbers and all on a monthly basis , Just compare it with numbers from two years ago, not only that but again Erik has said it on these boards before and used that for one of the reasons of things not going as smoothly as they should ( not for sure if it was the late issue again or not but it was something and he used that for the reasoning).
and another small note Erik even credits the success of SF legends Sakura in the latest issue #3 to possibly and partly be due to the timelyness of the book.

bill_rizer - I’ll speak as honestly as I can. With certain things it’s best that I don’t air dirty laundry regarding some topics. You can always PM me or float me an E-mail if my box is full at sano75_1@hotmail.com if you have any questions or are not a member of SRK and what not. I always try my best to respond to everyone as best as I can, when I can.
Below is the way I mod this forum, I can’t speak for others and however they wish to do things.
I’m not really here to stop anyone’s freedom of speech. If I decide something is… well… flat out bait maybe I’ll step in. Nowadays I’m mostly deleting stuff with regards to things a long the line of people downloading the comic for free and things of that nature. Shoryuken.com is Shoryuken.com. Love it, hate it, that’s what it is and I’m not here to change that. We as mods including those of the General Discussion thread who I will defend (and they literally have THOUSANDS of posts to go through and do a pretty damn good job of it from my end of things considering) do the best we can without changing our community. We can’t run around and delete every post that we just don’t like so long as it’s within rules. People are free to say what they want within reason(within reason being the key words here, see the thread that introduced me and SFD as mods for more info), Apathy-Inc and others are free to respond. Where I stand lots of information we didn’t have before has come about from this discussion so there’s really not much need for me to step in just yet.
This goes for everyone, if you want my advice, I’m not here to tell people how to post or whatever but just in my opinion it’s always best if you put some thought into your posts and don’t just jot down the first thing that pops into your head when posting. This forum is read by lots of people and it overall makes for a better place for people to visit. What I just said right there has nothing to do with you saying negative things about Studio Udon or anything, just put a little thought into your criticism is all I ask. Oh and it makes my job easier if I have more interesting things to read since I do read every single post here. 
If you just post, “The comic sucks!” it’s boring. If you just post, “I love the comic!!” it’s boring. It’s always better when you describe how you feel and why, the longer the better. Of course this is just advice that has nothing to do too much with regards to the way I mod, take it or ignore it, do as you will.
Shoryuken.com is still the greatest Forum in the UNIVERSE IMHO and I will defend it with my dying breath. There’s plenty of people here, even in General Discussion that will give you the shirt off their back if you look around and learn to just ignore some people on ocassion, it’s those ‘shirt giving people’ let’s call them that make this forum so great. But SRK is also not the only place out there, the net is vast and huge…
I am not talking ONLY about the SF II comic, I am talking about ALL the main SF comics/title, since Udon has been putting it out
Street Fighter by udon was doing over 30k, (dont have the numbers in front of me, so I cant give you the exact numbers)
and PART of that blame HAS to go on the long delays, which is exactly what is hinted at by udon in thier own SAKURA book.
as I said in the previous post just look at the diamond numbers from two years ago ( SF II only been 1 year) and you will see the numbers drop considerably
I can tell you this much -
SF #1 started with 40K. Then SF #2 drop down to 30 immediately. And it sufferes constant drop per issue and it has nothing to do with us being late, as issues 1-6 we are relatively on time. It is the nature of the comic book retailers ordering independent books. When theres more Marvel and DC books out there, they will trim their orders on indie books coz most of the retailers believe they have a better chance selling those than non MV/DC titles. It has been conditioned that way and no one can change their buying pattern. With recent big events like Crisis/52 & Civil War, the market is getting worse for us independent publishers.
As for SF sales numbers, we have been constantly at 20K nowadays since around SF #12. And even after a long haitus, we still get the same 20K number when we relaunch as SFII #1. And up till the recent SFII #6, we are still doing 20K. This is a number that we breaks even. We are practically not making any money for the company, and just giving the artists a job.
So why keep doing this if we are not making any money? Coz we like SF and we wanna keep doing it as long as we can. But we do have other jobs that will pay us more, and we always have to make sure that we finish the client’s work before our own “pet project”. That is the unfortunate reality.
And for the sake of the arguement here - I never said we are not responsible for the delay of the books. I give my reasons, and whether you accept it or not, those are the hard true facts of life. For those who keep buying the book when it comes out, I really appreciate your support. For those who ust like to bitch, you are welcome to keep bitching till the next issue comes out if you do not have anything else better to do.

The STREET FIGHTER!Superwide Street Jam Poster seems to be selling well. My Comic Store tried to order it for me, but something about Diamond not having any in stock or some sh*t like that. I’m sure buisness will pick up with SF series when the 20th Anniversary comes around with the movie and prob SF 4 video game. Oh yeah, when the heck is the Ken door poster coming out?
I will continue to support the series, wouldn’t want to see it cancelled.
The only thing I don’t get is why you guys decided to go out on your own for publishing, when in terms of delivery, it’s made things alot worse.
One thing you have to always remind yourself of, Erik, people wouldn’t be whining if they didn’t already love the book. So while I’m sure it’s a pain to see alot of posts like mine, that bitch about the weeks and weeks of delays between each and every issue, we wouldn’t do it if the book wasn’t the high quality that it is.
I used to buy comics almost every week when I was younger, but years later, SF is the only comic I buy whenever it comes out. So to have that wait between issues, it’s kinda like having your only water source dry up for months at a time.
cough any word on weather Final Fight is going to happen yet? I don’t care if there’s YEARS of delays for that, just as long as it happens.
