Street Fighter goes LIVE

Great news.

Now we need SS0Special online and I’ll be set.

SS0 Special is coming this winter.

Arcade scene near me is dead. The only arcade anywhere near me burnt down 4 years ago, online is the only way I can get to play people so personally I can’t wait to play 3s online, this game is so much fun, I really hated cvs2 and it sucked online

Was it announced for Live though?

I don’t care for Online Play, but as a PS2 owner I will pick up an XBox because SVC and Guilty Gear XX Reload will be exclusive on the Xbox for the USA.

What I want is an Arcade perfect port of SF3 Third Strike. The Dreamcast version is not perfect, so let’s see which version will be better. The PS2 or the XBox version. It will be funny if the Dreamcast version is still the best…

is the lag on xbox live good enough so that if your opponent whiffs a chun li fierce, you can sweep it with ken, for example? what about if your opponent whiffs a shoto low forward? Can you low forward, super it on reaction? If you cant do these things in the lag, ,its kinda pointless to play. Ive never tried Xboxlive before…

i put money on it that dc version will still come out the best. dc is still undefeated when it comes to capcom ports that are on all systems(mvc2, cvs2). unless they add unblockable and arcade v1 links to system direction so it will mimic v1 arcade, but its doubtful :frowning: but who knows.

anyway, im not much of a fan of online play for fighters for the obvious reasons, but that is definitely good news for everyone. can’t hate on that option to play online. gives you something to do if you are stuck at home by yourself.

<----- is almost about to cry

I love this news, I’ve been hoping for this since the PS2 version got announced.

Xbox is now the king of 2D(trust me folks GGXX #Reload on an HDTV can’t be beat, believe me Dreamcast was great, but Xbox’s Dolby 5.1 sound in GGXX is unrivaled!) and I’m definately snagging this one up.

Xbox brand new = $150
Stick = $20(huh? oh that’s right just use an adapter!)
GGXX #reloaded = $20
SF Anniversary = $30
SS Special pack = $40
KOF 2k2/2k3 pack = $40

This year is too good for the Box…

Yep…I think I shat my pants.

ASAP, an Xbox.

im really sick of hearing comments like this.

the net code in cvs 2 is old and because of this there’s more lag in that game than in any other xbl title. Games that generate huge levels like crimson skies and pgr 2 have little to no lag.

SF: AE will most likely have updated net code and most likely will feature XBL 3.0 support which means clans and tournament support.

and i play P groove on live and it isnt that hard.

your estimates are too high:

Game: $50
System: $150 new, maybe $130 or $125 refurbished
stick: u can make a stick for $60
xbox live support: $50 for the xbox live cd, plus your first year is free. U don’t have to sign up for an extra year if u don’t want to.

So at most u should spend about $310, and that’s not including tax.

I had already determined I would get a Box, but this just sealed the deal. Quit beastin’ Capcom.

Mistake? When did I just talk about MVC2 players?

I was talking about all the players in general. They all (including me) are excited about this news.

Third Strike will be arcade PERFECT. Kuni was at Absolution 2004 (major Europe tournament). London folks told me that Kuni assured them that the 3S port will be arcade perfect. Of course there might be some miscommunication due to language barriers.
Perhaps Capcom of Japan realize that the fighting game scene outside of Japan is weakly linked. By releasing an arcade perfect version with online support, suddenly a wider range of people can improvise their skills and knowledge then bring it to the arcades.

Also PS to XBOX adaptors can be purchased at http://www.levelsix.com/ .

Yes I can’t wait for this shit. Finally getting to play people out of Florida.

Does anyone know the excact month?

OMFG… FAP FAP FAP fap fap fap FAP FAP

who cares about the cost…capcom did the same thing to RE:outbreak… if you didnt have a network adapter bam you had to get.one…if you want it a faster loading time…you had to get HDD with fagget fantasy 11 and toss out the FF11, then you had to get a damn keyboard, then ethernet cables and such… like 150 just to play the damn game or even more… still fun

shit now i have to buy a sexbox and all that great stuff… but hey its worth the practice time and money… in the end…well actually have more comp in places that havent an arcade with comp…

I did and paid for everything you just said to play RE. And it still isn’t was good as BXL. No friends list, no chat support, long load times just for getting connected. BXL loves us. BTW, CVS2 is that shitty online.

Well, I am an avid CVS2 EO Xbox Live player (been playing it for over a year now) and my favorite groove is P groove. For those that have played me they can tell you that people like me parry pretty well even when the connection starts getting laggy. Though as far as the connection issues go, it’s all a matter of the connection between both players.

In CVS2, if both players have a strong connection going, the fights will play rather smooth and it’s almost as good as playing offline. Be pretty hard pressed to even tell the difference. Though even in a slightly laggy connection the game is still playable just not at the same level that it would be in a really good connection. Especially if I play with someone close to where I live the connection is usually flawless. As in no lag spikes or latency and I can parry and combo just as well as I do offline.

YEAH!
