possibly, but knowing him that isn’t likely.
Sagat can’t sweep under projectiles, neither can Bison.
For invincilbity frames for the flashkick/Somersault
Guile has 8 frames of invincibility for all versions, 6 start up frames, 5 hitting frames, and 24-27 recovery frames and 14 fall frames.
Charlie as 6 start up frames for all versions, 6 invincible frames for short and forward and 7 invincibility frames for roundhouse, Short has 5 attack frames and then 49 recovery; forward has 9 attack frames and 50 recovery frames, roundhouse as 8 hit frames then 2 motion frames (nothing hits) and then 6 more attack frames, then 48 frame recovery.
I’d say not withstanding the shorter invincibility, Charlie does have more attack frames, so later jumpins by the opponent are more likely to get hit by the somersault.
I don’t remember any 100% combos for guile in EX2…I do know c.jack, chun, and ryu had em.
Among others too I guess.
Arika had some nice vids up on their site years and years back.
Yes, unfortunately those videos just may well be lost
When I mentioned there were no 100%'s I meant in actual matches against human opponents. Mission mode means nothing in an actaul match and all too situational. In EX3 all you have to do is land a foward and get max results from it. EX2 and plus are more based on matchups like a common SF game is suppose to be and the Excels balance it out like I’ve said so many times. Its pointless to flame over which one is better 2 or 3 because you guys have your opinions and me and others I know that play EX have theirs.
EX 3 is all execution, very little to no strategy. EX2 is about matchups, proper zoning and general to advanced strategy. Once again my opinion.
EX3 is very much like CVS2 in the aspect that you dont have to think really to win, just RC and Custom and in EX3’s case foward, tag!
I too agree that EX2 was MILES AND MILES better than EX2+ just for the fact that in EX2 you could not launch your opponent so easily and the much smaller windows for cancels from excel to super.
But you are right with the inifinites.
I saw the chun li one done on C.jack and the ryu inifinite done on garuda…it finished in the air no less!
I love EX3 I just started playing it again but I’ll always put EX2 above all others…
I haven’t read this whole thread so not sure if they were posted, but I have “pichu-ex2p_exhibition_1.avi” as well as 2 and 3. If it’s good let me know and I’ll put it up on CV for the SF EX fans
Pichu is fucking sick.
Put that shit up!
Allen!!!
WATCH SFEX2+ china combovids !!
Ok fellas, they are up in the Hall of Fame. Mofojo gave me the seal of approval as well. Link: http://combovideos.com/list.php?c=sfex
Good to finally have some SF EX represented on CV =]
Shinji and Jester I need those vids you were sending me 2 months ago. PM me the links to them again, and they’ll be up soon.

Well I recall some near 100% combos with excel with Rosso in some hongkong vids, but he messed up on the last excel. So it is possible. IIRC, that was how Jester and the new jersey part of NA played EX2+ (when they played it and before they got tired of the excel beating everything from supers and meteors to even excels).
If you don’t use excels, then you might as well play EX+a or EX3 -shrugs- just my opinion.
I thought you said eariler that you thought Pichus was basicly toned down maniac missions and nothing really special? Did something change your mind?
pichu vids we’re pretty good .
I personally agree, I’m just curious as to why col changed his mind.
Shinji: V. Rosso is the only one who has a match worthy combo using the excels because of the guarunteed damage reset. Other excel combos do no damage and arent worth using the levels unless your guarunteed to kill them mostly at under 45% other than that anything else is not worth it, just hold the levels.
Which brings me back to saying its the most balanced fighter.
I agree that if excels arent for you then yeah you should stick to the original and 3.
In the current day we live in the SF world of customs so its like 2nd nature to me.
I would love to play China in EX2. Maybe one day if they hold a National. Dhalshim and Sharon Tops!!!
Yea, that was why I stuck with Aism Dhalsim in A3 against ya, rather than going for Vism.
But as far as I know the one arcade that had EX2 in hongkong has been shut down so I’m not sure if there’ll be any nationals or anything like that anymore :-\
-added on-
Did you get any EX2+ action going on at Evo this year? Like in tragic’s hotel room or something?
proud owner of the 3 pichu’s exibition vids as well as the readme files we wrote for them
been ages since i last talked to him on irc asking him for advices for garudas mission with the use of only one excel but i still haven’t got it to go for 100% damage, i only got 196 damage wich is about 98% :xeye:
Even though I cant do the maniac infinite Ex 2 is based on the mechanics of 3s alot. I have had about 40 wins or more at our college. Guardbreaks aren’t recommended they are easy to see coming and if timed correctly the person receiving the hit could grab or excel causing more damage. Crossover is very necessary in this game as well as reading your opponent. Some people say that this game is broken well its not when I challenge good cvs players they are convinced that its not when I beat them in the end.
Guard breaks are good, you just cant be obvious with them. The best way to sneak in guardbreaks is randomly. In most cases I’ll use consecutive fireballs with Ryu at a neutral up close angle and set up pressure points where I can jump and stay on you, crossup into throw, low roundhouse fb, fb then instant guardcrush out of nowhere. Neutral guardcrushes are virtually useless cause yeah you can see the frame startup easily thats why they’re best utilized in pressure point situations.
Rushdown soup! :karate:
I agree with everything else you said.
Surprise blows have the same frames to hit as those guard breaks in EX2+
Though one nice thing is being able to cancel out of supers with guard breaks in EX2+.
