Well, yeah. I meant that they could be added as an overlay during editing, similar to Mummyās 720 vid. I can get the 2nd phase to come out about once every 10 tries, and from then on I randomly get the 3rd phase about once every 2 or 3 tries⦠I just havenāt figured out when to start and stop the motions. There are about 6 trials I canāt do (Galx and the last 5 on Maniac).

Iām aware of what you meant and it is impossible to be able to give an accurate overlay of when to do the motions. If I made the video and I put āb,d,db+pā as on overlay when would you do it? would you start the motion then? Or maybe I had meant that you were supposed to finish the motion at exactly that point. What if Iām doing the motions slower or faster than you, how would you be able to determine that for a guessed overlay.
Also, when I do the move, Iām typically not looking at the screen, so I donāt know what kind of visual cues I could give. Which is why without SFEX3 having something to show your inputs, is that is impossible to give you an accurate overlay.

I will be the first to say that STFEX3 is the better game over EX2: plus!
I bought a copy of EX3, and I was like: āDamn this game is good, in-fact brilliant!ā. I now even play EX3 more frequently than EX2.
BTW: itās all bout Bison and Shadow Giest (the best fuckin team in the game). I figured out some insane combos/juggles for Ryu/Dahlsim and Dahlsim/Blanka. Sakura/Ken is fuckin cheap. And Sagat and area is even more cheaper. Finally Garuda/Shadow Giest is the CHEAPEST.
Itās too bad, that Iām the only one in WI/Racine that plays this game. But itās fun as fuck.

There might be something of an EX tournament at MWC, and even if it doesnāt work out, we can try for something around then anyway.
Just for shits and giggles, I rebought JP EX3. Now I remember why I sold it in the first place. Donāt get me wrong, I LOVE EX(Where the fuck is Arturo and the CF guys?), but one thing bugs me about EX3 that made me go back to the older ones.
The craptastic color scheme.
I know full well that this was a rush job and they still made a quality fighting game out of it, but it blinds me whenever I look at some of the BGs. Between the colors/brightness and the actual stage size(made to look like you were clocer to the scenery), I end up having to stare at other things just to keep from turning this great game off. Capcom needs to dig up those Arika guys and remake this game graphically from the ground up. Sakura and Nanaseās faces hurt my eyes.
Meanwhile, Iāve managed to get 80% of Aceās shit done, and unlocked Rosso(TOO GOOD) and Darun(G.O.D. > FAB). The tag system is something that grows on you, and unless youāre real good with certain chars(or have a friend), Tag Combos wonāt turn out well. Anyone soloing manage to get every medal yet?

Saotome: āTag Combos wonāt turn out well?ā It isnāt THAT hard to come up with good shit. One thing that helps is to change the partner setting from Semi-Auto to Manual; this allows you to control your partner sooner after the tag.
Usually, after you combo into tag, you want to do a couple hits that keep your opponent on the ground. Blanka, Garuda, and Jack, for instance, can all use s.HP into MP+MK for this purpose. Some characters can do more complex and better onesā¦Ken, for example, can use c.MK xx fireball xx momentary RH hurricane kick, and Ryu can do something very similar (just replace hurricane kick with MP+MK). Just experimentā¦
Anyway, some random tips for the less experienced people:
- Ryu (both versions), Kairi, and Guile can momentary cancel their anti-air specials into their projectiles. In all cases, do the momentary IMMEDIATELY after pressing the button for the anti-air. This is awesome because it makes these anti-airs completely safe as long as you use the right buttons for the momentary.
With the Ryus, always use HP for the momentary; it is guaranteed to hit the opponent during the DPās blockstun, whereas the two slower versions leave him open to reversal supers like Tiger Genocide.
With Kairi, use either MP or HP (I forget which) for the momentary. Basically, if the fireball hits the opponent after the DP, thereās no chance of a reversal super.
With Guile, I am not sure if any version of sonic boom would protect him from a reversal super (HP version would be the best bet). However, one advantage he has over the othersā¦he can momentary cancel the sonic boom back into flash kick, and repeat these cancels as long as the opponentās within range. This does CRAZY chip damage, so learn it well if you play him (always make sure to end these strings with boom and not flashkick, of course!).
Now, with Kairi there is basically NO reason not to ever do the momentary after DP. With Guile, the only problem is that after a connected flashkick you can combo into super flash kick for good damage (this still doesnāt make up for guaranteed safety + chip damage IMO). The Ryus have the best reason not to use momentary fireball after DP; if the DP hits they can combo into hurricane kick super, which starts his damaging B&B juggles.

If you play Jack, do not use s.MK in his B&B juggles. c.HP is better because it does more damage and builds more meter (enough, in fact, to allow a 4th super in the combo if you start with full meter). The only time you should use s.MK for juggles is when he enters a tag combo which leaves them some distance away from him (after Dhalsimās Yoga Drill Kick, for instance).

Darunās G.O.D. is not recommended unless your partnerās dead and you have over 3 bars IMHO. The risk of them escaping, combined with the meter spent, just aināt worth the potential death usually. If youāre teaming him with Gief, their team super is much better for him.

Some good moves, on block, to cancel into throw supers:
Gief - Super Stomping xx FAB (or level 3 if your partnerās dead and you have enough meter). Oldie but goodie, cancel the super between the 4th and 5th hits.
Jack - Crazy Jack (possibly Grand Slam Crasher too) xx Crazy Buffalo. Just cancel the supers in between hits.
Rosso - QCF+P xx level 3. This works because usually there is no reason not to do the second QCF+P.
Darun - MP Lariat xx Super Darun Bomb or G.O.D. or team super w/ Gief. This is the best one IMO, almost impossible to escape if done right. Just cancel right as second hit is about to connect.

It would be nice if they got a chance to redo this games graphics, but what worries me is what kind of fixes theyāll attempt to do on this game and end up making the gameplay worse and ruin a good game.
Iām sure that I got about 95% done with Ace, but since I donāt bother with the lightning kick infinite, I didnāt bother with the ones that require 45+ hits.
Rosso is good, have you seen Jesters or EKs in action? They can be a nightmare ^.^
But for tag combos, they arenāt that hard, watch some videos (Iām coming out with one soon, hopefully ^.^) to get some ideas, mess with normals, ways to combo normals to surprise blows, and even visa versa (only got that onces though), and get the momentaries down.
The only medals that may be easier with the a friend are the perfect opponent in stage 3, and get 30+ hits. But there is a small little trick thatāll make that medal easy as pie. Set 2nd character to manual, then surround the opponent and combo c.lks to death (though easier with Garuda as your first character, so then you face Hokuto instead)
Stuff I knew already, but thanks, I did state though for first-comers(even seasoned EX players) will have a few problems starting shit up. I can get stuff, but not enough to get some of the medals. Shit, Iām still getting used to the momentaries and other undocumented shit.

I remember being able to get a FAB off between ANY hit of Stomping, but maybe thatās my old EX+a memories there. =p And isnāt Crazy Buffalo too slow to actually catch them? =/ And just so you know, it CAN be done off Grand Slam Crasher.
As for G.O.D., thatās just a fanboy view, if that shit was guaranteed it would be broken as all hell. Galaxy is stupid strong too, but since I still have problems in VF4 doing SPoDs, Ace wonāt be a regular char for me any time soon. =/
They changed the block stun timing, So if you try to cancel into the fab anytime eariler, heāll wiff.

Iām getting there. I get tunnel vision in EX for some reason, when I set out to do one task, I donāt do well on the entire picture. I just need to work out those older habits.

If they can change the sprites (ok 3D models) without changing the hitboxes, the game should retain its current playability. However, how much they change the sprites could make for some confusion as to why they hit when they werenāt there or the like.

^.^, I did get a perfect against Garuda with Rosso solo, so abusing the poor AI in this game could be to your advantage for getting the perfect against him.
Like you can only do parts of a combo but not the whole thing together? Or when you set out for some idea for a combo, you go off on a slight tangent, so you end up with something else completely?
Both of those happen to me all the time, annoying thing it is, especially when capturing combos lol.

I think I fluked it once just by refusing to let him get up⦠Some of the Gold ones are harder (especially the long critical parade and tag combos)
From my understanding, if you only activate the move and let it be like that, itāll only powre up the first part, not the whole thing.
And which move are you refreing to thats too hit or miss?
Typically those medals are more character dependant. For the easy ādo 100 points of damage in a critical paradeā, just pick Darun and Zangief and keep on tappin the s.hk (I doesnāt seem count damage after the critical parade, so that nixes Garudas cheap ass CP lol). And long combos is more character dependant. Like using Garuda whoās specials can do 8 hits of quick easy damage, rather than trying to link 8 potientally harder to do hits (harder combos).
