Street fighter EX thread(EX, EX+, Ex+@, EX2, EX2+, EX3)

Buy turn tables on a later date :p, EX representation only happens once in a life time ^.^

From the looks of it, despite efforts, the EX portion may end up happening on different grounds than MWC, though during the same time frame.

Could be at the hotel that the Empire is staying at, place where the NA group will stay at, or at my place.

I could bring my computer along and we can do a direct recording of the matches. And then attempt to hype up the vids when we release them online.

But its still a few months off, so its practice time ^.^

I really like E3…it just seems really hard to find any info on it…is there any sites that have some more in depth stuff? I play Rosso & Hokuto…I am also really into Ryu & Sagat…heh heh…well any way, what are the teirs i this game…from what i can gather from rosso…he rules…i think pallum is good too…this is all just speculation cause i don’t really play anyone, cept maybe 1 or 2 people… oh yeah, what are some good strats for Hokuto?

There are about 3 or 4 missions I can’t do…

(6) 60-hits? (aside from repeated magic dragon punch)
(8) Throw -> Crouching Low Kick -> Shoryuken -> Super Move

Can somebody post a slow-motion video of the Galaxy with onscreen button press timings?

Jester has a good Rosso faq on gamefaq, so you should read that. and I don’t have any tips for the others

(6) or the lightning kick infinite, or a long combo followed by a 3 star fairy gift with some major punch mashing
(8) forgetting, but IIRC it had something to do with inserting a different super move between the attacks.

And that is impossible to do a vid for the galaxy, as EX3 doesn’t allow you to see your button presses while performing anything.

you know, that’s something i really wish the game had. it would have made finding the reqiurements for certain combos a lot easier
hey shinji, have you ever tried linking a c. MK to knee press nightmare after bison’s dead throw?

got as of yet

and yesI wish this game had that. I could see why they they didn’t need it as much in other games, but in EX3, with all those ā€œhidden movesā€, they really should have put it in there.

I’m not sure if that’d work. Due to the timing of the kness press nightmare.

What I’m thinking is that you start the dead kick and hold back, (control switch), downback.mk,sf.kick. However there is a delay in the downback.mk to hit, which may screw up the timing of the super, and thus make it impossible for it to hit.

However you can go into a CP from the c.mk ^.^

Colguile have you got a video or something that can prove that? Since playing SFEX2P for 4 years I have never seen anything remotely possible…except, as you stated if you beat the satellite bonus in normal play.
I cancel supers regularly after excels all the time but I have never experienced this unlimited super phenomena during the last two seconds. (And two seconds is sort of long during excel times considering an excel lasts for about 4.5-5? Its not possible to pull off supers during an excel either…so I don’t get you…)

And here in Australia we still do have a somewhat small closeknit SFEX2P base that still play in the arcades. I would rank the top tier chars in SFEX2P as:

Nanase - counters, the floating stick super. You can bring it up at opportunity and/or use it for ā€˜bouncing’ comboes (u would know if you seen some of the combo vids floating around) and her 360+p command throw. Basically a very versatile character that is effective against every other char. Most chars would have difficulty beating a good Nanase.

Hokuto - similar to nanase… 360+p. Also strong defense 236p>4p/k has invincibility

CJack - Good anti-air, HIGHLY damaging single combo super/excel/excel super combo, feint dash, can combo with lights(!)

Area - Upload/Download provocation game, good chipper

VRosso - Powerful two level combo, counters, fastest meter gain, easy infinite

Bison - LOTS of crossovers. Easy HK crossover at all heights, basic heavies can start comboes at all heights, psychocrusher can crossover opponent on knockdown, high damage excels, can combo heavies into one another…

However our best player here uses Skullo. However it is not the char that makes him good but simply his ability to ungodly react and predict what you are going to do. A skill necessary in any fighting game - Insane hand/eye co-ordination.

No vid but if you have the game just pick RYU and do the fireball about as many times as possible. Just mash. towards the end of the excel (While you are still in excel) a super fireball will come out. You can then cancel it into a hurricane kick super with no meter used. One meter for the excel and that’s it.

I figured most cats would have known of this YEARS ago. Colguile can do it easily since I have EX2+ for computer and it runs at a much lower frame rate than the PS version, however you should still be able to do it in the PS version cause I can with ease.

It works in the same fashion as a special cancel in excel.

It’s kinda easy but 2 secs is much too long agreed. more like a sec to .5 sec before the end of the excel.:stuck_out_tongue:

Again I was going by the computer version…

Which is the arcade version. So that is probably a bug in the arcade. As similarly with that Dhalsim glitch being able to cancel his meteor to a yoga drill (as long as you have enough bar aka only against CPU garuda first round (assuming you passed the bonus game) , or during the credits.

Then it might be just the computer version. Zinc rom i presume? My SFEX and SFEX2P roms were pretty shocking as i recall. The voices were all high pitched and warped and said by the wrong people. I never bothered playing the roms enough after that and i went to get the PS version…
But you say you can do it on the PS version as well? I will go and try when I have the time…
I have played on the PS and Arcade versions and as far as i know it shouldnt be possible on either of these…
Meteor into yoga drill? I might go try that.
On the issue of bugs, me and my friend once froze the arcade machine. It was Area vs Dhalsim and it froze on the ā€œversusā€ screen. Don’t know how we did it but we were never able to make it happen again.
On the PS version you can easily cause texture/graphical screwups by doing excessively ā€˜sparkly things’ it seems. Eg. throwing a second psycho cannon before the first has left the screen, Dhalsim yoga drill --> yoga legend or even just yoga legend on its own causes the textures to all go warped.

As I said that Dhalsim one is for the arcade only. So when trying it out use that as the medium.

I tried that with Rosso just now, to no avail. :-\

kept on repeating the qcf+p, then he canceled into the qcfX2+p, or which I followed up with qcbX2+p
But that took all of my bars

Yeh…it shouldnt work. I’ve been playing EX2P continously (like EVERY weekend before i got to work  not to mention all the hours at home once it came out on PS ) since 2000 and I have never seen such a thing possible. I think it is a computer rom glitch.

Maybe you cats are too slow.

Try with shadow and do the following as fast a possible. Keep your timing as close as possible. By now most should be able to sense when the excel is going to fade off so try a keep that in mind.

With Shadow:

In excel (you should STILL be in excel when you do this) off a shoulder charge, throw out the 8 hit ground super, (even now you should still be excel) cancel into the death energy for about 7 hits more or less.

This is the easiest way IMO next to using Ryu. I’m not sure why you cat can’t do it.

You have to go from super to super and you will find you have 2 meters left.

The only thing I can equate this to is the ability to cancel a level 2 super in CvS2 with a special and do another super. But then you lose meter.

I’ll try it with shadow later. I can pretty much do it on command if I remember correctly.

keep trying. And also, try out the rebound juggles in the game. Bison is king for that. Counter a jump in with a jab and combo off it. See how far you can get.

Ok, so then its similar to my Dhalsim glitch then, except for more tighter timing.

Yeah…I didn’t even know of the dhalsim glitch to tell you the truth.

I’m not sure why it works for me though. I am positive it works in the emu but like the dude said it most likly due to the rom and my slow frame rate.

The dhalsim glitch is when you have more than 3 bars (impossible during normal gameplay, but during Garudas stage and credits its possible).

Do his Yoga Inferno, then do the motion for the Yoga Drill, he’ll cancel into the drill, but the screen will still be showing the animation for the Yoga Inferno while he’s doing the Yoga drill, and the screen is still in the meteor screen. After that you can do a j.hp, into another yoga drill ^.^

I posted a link to the video of that a few pages back I think.

but I’m uploading that file to streamload for futher DLs

Ok that vid is hosted and heres the url

BTW Col do you know off hand if the Excel to infinte super bars glitch was for SFEX2 or SFEX2+? That might be a major difference.

When I do it, it’s in EX2+.

I’m about to play a game so I’ll try it out now.
