well the psx iso or whatever i have is either shitty or the psx version is just far inferior to the mame version because the iso running on epsxe is slow as SHIT. like very noticeably slower than arcade. idk what the problem is
so i wont be trying epsxe kaillera until i figure out what the problem is with it
I thought they stopped updating it back when CPS3 was finally cracked. But all they seem to do is add in clones and bootlegs along with a few fixes so to say they haven’t added anything meaningful wouldn’t be a stretch though technically incorrect. But I haven’t messed with emulation since I did the SFEX2 combo videos on mame-rr. So I’m not sure what’s new these days.
ex2p deserves reliable and good netplay. or better yet, rerelease ex1, ex2p, and ex3 on xbl for 20 dollars with netplay. id jizz

Last update to FBA added a new cpu which was in late June of 2013.
Mamedev is pretty much part MESS now. So, they’re busy doing both console and arcade emulation. Few of them are even focusing on pc emulation since they’re running out of actual arcade systems to emulate. I just focus on the rerecord emulators cause of the lua scripting compatibles.

So…I’m slowly dissecting the system of the SFEX3 game(just visually, no prying into data…because I’d feel bad) and I’ve been wondering, what exactly is the frame window on MOMENTARY combos? it feels very small, you only have until the hitsparks are out, right? And do you guys have any interesting things about the system you’d like to share? I really like sfex3 and I’m analyzing it for my own nefarious purposes, but I figured who better to ask than the experts.
the input window is 3 frames based on my work with a programmable controller. Which should be about the same length as the hit sparks/hit freeze.
I’m finding hit freeze is six frames.
In EX3 or arcade EX and EX2? I could retest but you probably have a more technical way to test that out opposed to me programing in a 2 normals back to back whiffing and hitting and subtracting the distance between the two.
I have no way to do it for EX3, but every game had it at 6 including Fighting Layer.
Hey I was wondering 2 questions.
- What is the best emulator that will run EX2 plus(arcade or psx port).
- Is there online play?
Ive been wanting to play other players and I saw a couple vids of EXplus and EX2 plus being played online. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
ive gotten on kaillera but mame32 runs the game really slow for me… while old mame runs it perfectly for me (dont know why) but idk how to use kaillera with it. either way youre not going to find anyone to play with.

- ePSXe is generally the best psx emulator and has limited online play.
zinc is ok for arcade until mame got around to doing it well. If you have a weak computer then try zinc, but most modern computers should be able to handle mame these days.
Otherwise try requesting the FBA authors to add zn1 and zn2 support. Which will then by proxy add the SFEX games. Which could then possibly be added to GGPO.
- Online play exists. In kaillera form on ePSXe and possibly some form of unofficial mame.
Or hope that Capcom and ARIKA get together to republish the game as a collection edition on PS3/4 and Xbox 360/1 with online support.
On the subject of Momentaries, it feels like certain branches are just easier in general such as Hadoken to anything. Maybe it’s just me.
- Buy a PSX.
- Invite some mates over.

Hacking wise I haven’t messed with it in awhile and i have no real way to show it. There might be only 5 hurt spheres for collision in this game.
Mikado in Shinjuku is just as awesome of a place. Just the other day they hooked up Kaiser Knuckle and people tried to do something I’ve been trying to do for the past 3 weeks. Which was beat the General. Of course, no one beat the General.
