Street fighter EX thread(EX, EX+, Ex+@, EX2, EX2+, EX3)

Well his leveld up moves can be quite damaging, and possessing 2 infinates can’t hurt, but due to his lack of momentarys and kinda stale gameplay I don’t use him that much. I’m sure with the right combination of edited moves at level 3 he can be quite deadly though.

Apologies for the late reply. The video will certainly be ready by the end of February. Why so long? Because this semester is hell, especially considering it’s my last one before I get my BSc. Good news is that every character will be represented by at least two decent combos. None of them are Expert Mode missions, but some are based heavily on them. Bad news is that I can’t put in combos I can’t do; so far this means Chun/Gamma’s infinite (I must get at least 3 reps for it to be included) and combos involving Bison’s Scissor Kick XX Knee Press Nightmare. Scissor Kick XX Psycho Cannon is no problem for me, fortunately.

You won’t see any match videos from me, unfortunately, because my only input is a keyboard. And since I don’t have a capture card, transferring matches from VHS to PC isn’t possible. Besides, I’m probably a shitty EX player and can’t possibly compare to jester’s Rosso/Sim madness.

I’m interested in that Akuma combo. Quirky is good. :smiley:

If you guys don’t mind, I’d like to put up transcripts of combos as I capture them (I’ve performed 99% of them already, but haven’t recorded all of them… the video would be out a lot sooner if I did) and get your input. Transcripts for Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Guile next post.

The Chun Li/Gamma infinate, you are referring to the lightning leg loop I am assuming? If you are having problems with it let me know, I can loop it quite easy in EX3. So if you need some help on a specific portion of it, let me know.

Well I did the combo on Zinc but I had a pad…

This is the combo nothing special but it is a luck of the draw type combo.

Air fireball-dive kick-crouching medium kick, hurricane kick (medium)-hurricane kick(heavy)-dive kick-crouching medium kick-fireball-tricky part: This where most can fuck up. You have to do the super fireball for 7 hits.inorder todo that you gotta be AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLEsuperfireball for 7 hits-standing jab-small shoryuken-super air fire ball.

It does not work well on big cats so try it on skullo. I did mine on KEN and shin akuma.

Ryu vs Zangief, 17 hits, approx. 60% damage.
crossup j.HP, d.MP, d.LK, d.LK XX Shinkuu Hadouken XX Shinkuu Tatsumaki.
(The second LK only connects on Zangief and Darun.)

Ryu vs Ken, 23 hits, approx. 80% damage.
crossup j.MK, d.MP, d.MK XX LK Tatsumaki x1 XX air Shinkuu Tatsumaki XX Shinkuu Hadouken XX Shinkuu Tatsumaki.
(The LK Tatsumaki must be cancelled as late as possible. The choice of crossup was just for variety.)

Ken vs Sakura, 13 hits, approx. 80% damage.
j.HK, d.MP, d.MK XX HK Tatsumaki x3 XX Shouryureppa XX Shinryuken XX Shouryureppa.
(Sakura is a tough target for the Tatsumaki from a distance; each hit must be timed properly to avoid whiffing.)

Ken vs Allen, 14 hits, approx. 70% damage.
crossup j.HP, s.HP XX Shinryuken XX Shouryureppa XX Shinryuken.
(Simple, stylish, and reasonably damaging. It’s amusing how Ken seems to sneak into Allen’s crotch after the Shinryuken cancel. Heh…)

Chun-Li vs Darun, 14 hits, approx. 55% damage.
crossup j.HP, s.HP, d.MK XX Senretsu Kyaku.
(Decent damage for one level of meter. The entire super will only connect on Darun and Zangief; on everyone else you’ll get either one hit or none at all. Cancelling into Kikousho is pointless since you’ll get only one hit, and that hit does less damage than the final hit of the Senretsu Kyaku in the first place.)

Chun-Li vs Pullum, 29 hits, approx. 80% damage.
LK Hienshu, c.MK XX HK Lightning Kick (3 hits) XX Senretsu Kyaku XX Kikousho XX Senretsu Kyaku.
(The juggling on the last super is highly sensitive to when you cancelled the Kikousho. Time it too early or too late and the Lightning Kick portion of the super might totally whiff. I’ve managed 31 hits before, but maybe that was because my dummy was Darun at the time.)

Guile vs Kairi, 13 hits, approx. 45% damage.
LP Sonic Boom XX Double Somersault XX Opening Gambit XX Double Somersault.
(The point is obviously showing off the cancels. I could’ve put a little more before the supers, but it seems I have to be very close to get the Opening Gambit to juggle properly. I’ve had very little luck juggling the Opening Gambit beyond one hit on large characters, but shoto-size characters (like Kairi) work like a charm.)

Guile vs crouching Zangief, 16 hits, approx. 70% damage.
crossup j.HP, d.MP, d.LK XX HP Sonic Boom, d.MK XX Opening Gambit XX Double Somersault.
(Since I recorded these combos in Versus Mode as opposed to Training Mode, I actually had to tape down the appropriate key to get Zangief to duck! I could’ve cancelled the Double Somersault into Opening Gambit, but there wasn’t much point; I’d only get one hit as mentioned above.)

Zangief vs Darun, 19 hits, approx. 90% damage

(All of the d.MK cancels must be very quick to keep Zangief close enough to connect the last super. I used c.MK instead of s.MK as a tradeoff in difficulty: it’s a bit harder to cancel s.MK into the super than c.MK, but making Zangief duck for the c.MK makes the window for the link even smaller. And hell, c.MK does a tiny bit more damage than s.MK anyway.)

Zangief vs Chun-Li, 6 hits + FAB, approx 80% damage
j.HK, s.HK XX Super Stomping (cancel), Final Atomic Buster
(The FAB is barely in range and comes out one frame after Chun-Li recovers from hitstun. The only way out, of course, is to hold up while recovering. Use this if you want to go for more damage than continuing the combo with one more Super Stomping. Doesn’t work after the MP-MK link, however.)

Hokuto vs D.Dark, 14 hits, approx. 45% damage
Ryusui, c.LK XX Kyakuhougi (3 hits) XX Kiren Eki XX Kyakuhougi
(This is the best I could come up with off normal Hokuto’s command grab. At the risk of making myself look like a certain other combo video maker, I needed to cancel the first super prematurely to maximize the damage and number of hits of the Kiren Eki. Those extra hits more than made up for the lost Kyakuhougi hits. As for the last super, it juggles for three hits and shitty damage. In a real match, stop at two levels.)

Damn, I’m hurting for normal Hokuto combos. Evil Hokuto, I’ve got a ton thanks to Josh. :slight_smile:

BTW, some may have notices I’m recording these combos in the order of the Expert Mode chart. The four remaining characters will be put in after Sakura.

whats a spin side shoot?i don’t see it. is there other moves below the serie that ends with nekketsu hadoken?

I believe there are more moves, but you have to buy a certain amount of the other moves to unlock the rest of the moves. But you should unlock it eventually.

As I guess they didn’t want you to be able to do some of the missions too easily with some of the advanced moves.

I may have seen that rosso infinite with excels… well I didn’t seem to build up enough bar for an infinite, but it was a 100% combo. Go Rosso :slight_smile:

I’m tring to get that bastard Master Akuma to help me do a EMU based vid but I may have to fly it alone. I got a new PC pad and some more RAM so I should be able to run the EMU and record at the same time now.

I just have to try first. I’m normally on kaillera playing MSH or MvC. Maybe some KOF98/2000. That is where I am normally.

Yea, yoiu have to enter in your IP address and the other persons IP address. Though I never had someone to play against, so I never had a chance to try it out :frowning:
