Street Fighter Alpha Anthology announced!

If it is Upper than maybe this is the chance for everyone to pick it up, and at least some form of Alpha 3 can have tournaments again. 3s seemed to become more popular when it was released with the anniversary collection.

Is this there way of gaining more money from us so they will make a “new” fighting game sometime in the near future. The Alpha series wasn’t too bad, so I will most likely give Capcom free money again, but something good better come out of this.

:wgrin:

shit. i already have alpha 3, and recently bought alpha 2 and pocket fighter. if only i know about this collection before!

no version has 25 playable characters, there are 25 on the default select screen (1,3,5,7,5,3,1), but the secret chars are in every version, so it’s wrong:

I’ll buy for Alpha 3 because it’s still one of my favorite fighting games of all time.

Not entirely. There’s 25 selectable characters on the character select of the arcade version, with Balrog/M.Bison as a secret character. The other versions have at least 29 characters on the select screen, so by the sounds of things it is the arcade version.

Capcom seem to be getting it a bit I think. We could do with an arcade perfect port, it would be seriously good for competition. Then there’s the X-Box Arcade too, which is sounding good imo as well. They may not be releasing a new game, but they’re at least doing something right for once.

Not the Darkstalkers Colection, unfortunately.

The idea that they’re saving up the money from all these 2d fighter re-releases to make a new 2d fighter is a nice dream, but sadly I doubt it’s true. That seems pretty much our last hope now, though. Well, people could stop pissing themselves at the mere mention of SF4 and actually start supporting games by the companies that still make them, but that’s even less likely.

Telling us its 25 chars for a3 doesn’t help at all, but oh well.

Hopefully it REALLY is an arcade perfect port, but actually I would like to see A3 max.

Im hoping for a CPS3 collection, then we can finally get Warzard on home system.

I second that, I’ve never even seen Warzard besides CFJ.

can someone tell me a bit more about alpha 2 gold? how does it differ from regular alpha 2?

  • Game tweaks
  • Cammy selectable

That’s about it I think.

If A3 is simply going to be an arcade port, where does that put Deejay, Fei-Long, Guile, Shin-Akuma, and T. Hawk?

Now, someone correct me if I’m wrong: HSF2 incorporates the various incarnations in one game. Why isn’t the same thing being done with the Alpha series? Chain combos, CCs, and -ISMs and new characters aside, this shouldn’t be a stretch, should it?

I would love to see how an A1 “[insert fave character]” would fare against an A3 [insert fave]-ISM “[insert fave character]”, or something like that… (Did any of that make any sense?)

Even among the engines that shouldn’t be a problem. Just give chain commands to characters foreign to the A1 engine. And how hard can it be to adapt characters to perform CCs (A2)?

they wuill be arcade perfect ports as stated by ign, not downgraded ps1 ports: http://ps2.ign.com/articles/683/683075p1.html

Just remember that’s what they said about the WW, CE and HF ports in CCC.

**is there any chance that they would through street fighter alpha 3 upper in the mix?

ABASI!**

ok…thanx kyoji for that smiley face too!

Okay when someone says about the DC version NOT being arcade perfect well…thats just opening a can of worms that has been discussed b4 because the DC version technically isnt arcade perfect…

But its not like you cannot adjust to it or something…

Like me I am aware of the differences between both arcade and DC and THERE ARE DIFFERENCES seriously…but like I said, nothing you can’t adjust to.
