I want to know once and for all why the FGC hates Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper so much, why they never use the game in tournaments at all, and why they always prefer the CPS2 version over it.

Ironically because CPS2 is broken, an FGC loves infinites and whatnot on Capcom games but trashes on anything else.

As far as I can tell, Z3 Upper never got a widespread release in arcades outside Japan. At the same time, most of the players were already on CvS2.
