hi folks, im going to change the voice sounds of the attacks into old shaolin kung fu effects.
but i have many problems with the sound bank, because its has to be a “correct size” if i repack my replacements some files are starting wrong and displaced.
another problem is, when im repacking from wav ->adx -> aax -> csb, that the sound files become to loud and creepy.
here is my problem in this video
you can hear sagats super move, but its creepy and not good quality
is there anybody who understand the sound banks and can help me
the problem is that MANY files have different formats
some are in 36000 hz and mono for example
some are in 48000hz and stereo…
its very difficult…
But what is causing the Creepy sound… when im unpacking from csb to wav… there is no problem.
but the other way from wav to csb there is a HUGE problem i think
then make sure the ones that replace the 36000 hz ones are also 36000 hz, the ones that replace the 48000 hz ones 48000 hz, etc. i’m quite sure the “creepy” sound is a result of that particular sound having a different sample rate than the sound it’s supposed to replace.
so ive got a simple logikal solution of this problem now^^
its sooooo easy in fact.
first step is to convert ALL files from csb to aax…
then convert ONLY the files which are supposed to be replaced.
Then do you job.
when converting back… replace the aax files
and all is done.
Replacing unchanged files becomes errors.
so dont extract them .
Like neologix already pointed out, goshanes has release his brand new SF4 Audio Manager, the upgrade to his CSB packer, now presenting full CPK support (announcer, here we come!)
yeah thank you guys
sometimes the answer is so simple
okay only two more sound replacements for super and ultra sound
then one of the admins from sf4mods.com will up it soon.
look for Shaolin kung fu sound pack.
So I tried out the SFA3 announcer mod over the weekend. Here are my comments.
-The “Street Fighter… 4!” bit was a nice touch.
-I only played a few matches, but it seemed like the announcer’s fight intros didn’t vary much. I thought the two lines he said were independent of each other. (ie, the first part can be “Beat 'Em Up Guys!” or “Let’s Party!” while the second part can be “Triumph or die!” or “Come On!”). The announcer always seemed to say “Come On!” for the second line.
-It’d be nice to add some of the post-match dialogue (I didn’t notice any) like “What a terrible fighter!”
-I’d probably prefer it if you got rid if the SF4 announcer completely. It’s a little odd to have both announcers in the same game.
-Does the SFA3 announcer say “Select your character!”? Does the SF4 announcer say that? I can’t remember. I guess if the SF4 announcer doesn’t say it it’s pretty much impossible to have the SFA3 announcer say it.
-Does the SFA3 announcer have pre-match dialogue? I thought he did but I don’t recall it standing out. That’d be a nice touch though.
-As for having individual win announcing (Ryu Wins!" or whatever), I can live without that. It can just say “You Win!” after every versus match and I wouldn’t mind. Or maybe have it say “so and so Wins!” if the character was in SFA3 and just “You Win!” for characters that aren’t.
-I can live without talking during the fight. What kinds of things would he say?
I’m going to update/replace/add sounds soon and then upload it on some appropriate place.
But first, tell me what you think about:
Thanks! :karate:
Well, the narrator has three different types of intros for “first line”:
First Round:
And the battle begins = Get ready fighters
Are you ready = Beat 'em up, guys
Who will come out on top = It all depends on your skill
Mid Rounds (between 1st and final ones):
Will the tide of battle turn = You can’t give it up
And the battle continues = Go for it, man
Let’s pick up the pace = Face it straight
Final Round:
It all comes down to this = Go for broke
Hold out all the stops = Triumph or die
This is the final round = Final Round
“Second line” is the “FIGHT” shout, which can be replaced with only one thing. I decided “Come on” is OK; tell me if you’d like something else or just mute it. It is not possible to make him say random things instead of “Fight”, sorry.
I don’t know if it is possible. Maybe it will fit right after “K.O.”?
Agreed. Will remove him in the update.
*Yes, he says it. *I’ll include it in the update.
No, he doesn’t. That’s what I’m going to include:
“Nobody blink”. “Let’s party”. “It’s show time”. “Get ready, fighters”.
No chance; he doesn’t say characters’ names (at least in the rip I found)
I may not understand the mechanics, but is it possible to combine the two SFA3 lines together into a single file, and then mute the “FIGHT”/“Come On” shout? So that way, the two lines in SFA3 are said together, and he doesn’t end with “Come On” at the beginning of every fight? I don’t know if that’s feasible, if there’s a time constraint for how long the intro line can be, or anything like that.
Is it possible to replace lines like “I don’t care what anybody says, violence is a beautiful thing” with “What a terrible fighter!”? Does the SFA3 “K.O.” already take the place of stuff like that?
Good idea with the “Let’s Party” et, al for pre-match dialogue. Thanks for removing the SF4 guy and including the “Select Your Character” in the next one. I figured the individual win announcing and talking during the fight wouldn’t work.
This thread needs some refreshing, so if you haven’t already found out that there’s an announcer mod, here’s your chance to check it out on youtube. (Because we all know it is more convenient than downloading and replacing just to try it out.)
It’s the Street Fighter Alpha 3 narrator
