Are you talking about next week being when we’ll get details from the Captivate event?
Sure why not?
Ono posts on SRK!?
Wink smileys gay
Ono says SFIII 3rd Strike Online will play like original 3s ? Neo Empire!
From a recent interview. “Ono said: When it comes Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, there isnt much room for any more adjustments. The game is already so intricately balanced so we probably won?t touch that. We?ll enhance the online element and the graphics, but the rest will stay the same”
Intricately balanced?? WTF?? I’m no expert in 3S but it seems anything but balanced, unless you mean overbalanced in favour of chun li, yun, or maybe ken?
Still though, graphical enhancements are one thing, they can (probably) be switched off on a console by console basis to keep purists happy, but although i’m personally in favour of remixing game balance for games that are clearly lopsided, based the HD Remix experience, i would rather leave the game as it is and leave the player base with a defined standard rather than splitting it into new vs. old version arguments. If they remix it, they’ll never get everything right, and one imperfect standard across the board is still better than 2 differently imperfect standards.
Only thing about that is, who’s your target market for the game? OG un-remixed 3S players already have all the online 3S they can eat via GGPO, and new or non-serious players won’t want a game with old graphics that don’t stand up to SSFIV standard (even after tweaking) or that has a competitive roster of about 3 characters. Outside the hardcore players who just want it on their consoles with a few cool lobby features and extra online modes, who’s gonna buy it?
I think it runs the risk of being a cool game for 3 months until the online player base dries up, which would be a shame. Either way, i think i’ll be getting it. Have been meaning to learn 3S properly for a while.
God. Fucking. Damnit.
Truth be told; I wouldn’t mind if Chun was nerfed. But at the end of the day there will be no changes and I’ve accepted that. Move on scrubs.
You know, there was a day i would have been troll baited into a flamewar over a post like that, but i’ve read your posts, and you throw that “scrub” term around so often it’s lost all meaning coming from you. Read my post IN FULL, and you’ll see i agree with you, and i too have accepted the game won’t be rebalanced and am fine with it.
I’m no scrub, and actually, on taking a look at your profile, i’ve been on SRK a lot longer than you have, and have a lot less infractions for posting too, so please don’t bother lecturing me on what to say or not say in my posts, thanks.
Oh, and don’t bother replying, i’m moving on, as you requested…
GGPO for 3s will not be hard to improve on. The only people that play it are the few 3s loyalists scattered about who have no access to local play. I highly doubt any of them are thinking GGPO is already good enough. It’s easily the worst online experience on GGPO. Then again that isn’t that many people. I probably won’t buy this game either.
Also your last post deserves a round of applause
:clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos::clapdos:
What?
Actually, a lot of shoto scrubs play 3S on GGPO and think they’re good. As far as really good offline players on GGPO, maybe a handful of them are on there. If that sometimes.
Der.
Der.
What? I’m deeply confused. Are you saying that mostly scrubs (such as yourself) play 3S GGPO and because of that you won’t buy 3SO? Is that what you’re trying to say?
ha ok I’m blocking you now. You haven’t posted a single worthy post in these forums as long as I can remember you posting here. If you really think I’m a scrub I’d be happy to money match anytime you can drag yourself off GGPO and into an offline tournament. Until then keep being the pot that calls the kettle black.
Whatev’s bro, stay salty. I’ll be sure to beat you offline with Stomp Crossups.
Reading is cool, but without any understanding ability, it’s kind of useless.
Dude, I read his post and can’t understand what he was trying to get at. I doubt I’m alone with that sentiment.
Why didn’t you just ask him to explain better instead of answering something completely irrelevant and basically calling him a scrub?
You call pherai a scrub but you complain about Chun being OP?
Ironic isn’t it?
GGPO sucks for me so I for one am glad that 3SO is coming. I have no offline comp or arcades (anymore) so 3SO is my last chance.
If I could have played on 2DF or Supercade when I first got to college, I would have never got involved with the local community (They hate 3s for whatever reason and played GG and now SF4/MvC3 :arazz:) and I’d be better at the game. So I’m glad 3SO is coming out, especially since my copy of AC died and so did my gaming computer that I had everything set up as good as possible on to play on emulator and GGPO/2DF.
The only thing they need to do is throw in the stages and OST arrangements from 2I and NG and it’d be perfect
If astro city cabs werent so expensive I’d just buy one with the CPS3 board and the game. When I played on it at Seasons Beatings I never wanted to leave
Dude… I’m convinced a lot of you guys don’t read. I said I’m cool with her being as is, despite her top tier abilities. And yeah, I beat Pherai with Stomp Crossups. That’s all that needs to be said dude. Hopefully the netcode on 3SO will be damn good and scrubs who mash shit out all day on GGPO will get their asses handed for doing that unsafe shit.
Amen.
Sure, you may be cool with Chun, now that it’s absolutely certain that there will be no gameplay changes, but what about before that? You were one of the most vocal “Nerf Chun” posters in this thread. Only scrubs ask for nerfs. I don’t even see why you needed to ask for Chun nerfs in the first place. It’s not like she needed it anyway.
I hate people who ask for nerfs in order to compensate for their lack of ability to win against OP characters or because they are too goddamn lazy to figure out how to beat them. Chun or even Yun aren’t unbeatable.
No, you’ve never beaten me because we’ve never played.
