as far as rebalances go im fine with just 2 things.
-tweak the low tier to be a little better so they can compete more
-Make super arts unparriable. im fine with parries being as powerful as they cause thats been a hallmark of 3S, but being able to negate an entire super string is just pure bullshit.
do that and add good online and were golden.

I don’t think it’s gonna be played as much as Super is at the moment but with out a doubt the game will be getting resurgence with this being released.

Tournaments will add 3S:OE because it’s now on modern consoles, and people will enter for it.
But that’s a small slice of people playing Super.
The fact that it’s and “old game” and whether or not it has updated visuals/whatever (or rebalance) will affect mainstream success.
Not to mention (Probably) being a downloadable.
3S will come back, but I don’t see it becoming on the level of 4.

I love how going into 3S from 2I people were bitching about characters being nerfed into the dirt, but when someone suggests that they buff those characters back up again… they’re idiots and you can’t even offer a reason as to why they’re wrong… other than saying that if they knew anything they’d agree with you… Fuckin’ trolls.
On the “rebalance” side of things, I’m seeing a bunch of nobodies, and players that weren’t even around for the 3S era.
I don’t play 3S, but I was around back when nobody played it, then it got huge, and now when nobody plays it again. I know more real 3S players than most of you, and I know that none of them would like 3S changed.
There always was a group of high level 3S players that didn’t like 3S, but that’s just like now with SF4. Lots of the best players don’t like it. They just rather play another game. I’m willing to bet if you asked Mike Watson right now (top 3S player that hates 3S), he wouldn’t want to see a rebalancing of 3S. To him, 3S is just fundamentally ass (I agree, btw), so a rebalance would do nothing to solve that. That group of players is irrelevant in this discussion.
The players that love 3S, and know it way more than anyone posting in here so far, I can guarantee would love to see it ARCADE PERFECT. Not even a PS2 port would be the goal.

As it stands, Chun, Yun, Ken, Dudley, Makoto, Urien, Akuma, Ryu, Yang, Necro, Ibuki, are all very viable characters. You guys talking about only 3, obviously don’t know the game.

i’m not sure why people would want a 100% direct port. so they can control blurry characters on an hdtv with the standard 360 controller? hook up your 360 controller to your pc, and your pc to your hdtv if your that desperate.

Kinda tired of the “splitting the community”/“hurting the scene” argument. People who pull that card almost always do just that with their points. It’s hilarious irony. They don’t care about community when they get *their *way, but when it’s something that creates options (even if one of them is what they want!), they cower at the idea that somebody may want to play the same game differently.
I don’t see it as splitting the community, I see purified sub-scenes arising that will empower the collective by decreasing the polarizing effect of (especially older) fighting games. A 3s with both Arcade and Rebalance modes will sell more copies and make more people happy period. If you can’t live with the idea that there’s some other version of the game people are playing you need to stay in your own scene/living room/arcade/online lobby and mind your own business. *You *are splitting the community.

Here’s what’s wrong… Capcom has always been shit at rebalancing. What they do is take out everything that made the best characters any fun at all, and bring them down to the level of all the rest of the shitty characters.
What results is a bland-ass game. This has happened countless times. I know a lot of you guys are relatively new, but ask anybody that’s been here how they feel about:
Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
CvS: Pro
CvS2: EO
Any version of X-Men v. Street Fighter after the first one
Dreamcast 3S
The list goes on.
Capcom rebalances suck.
Let’s not forget the time it would take to get it out the door.
Arcade perfect 3S would take less time to come out, and just be better.
For the record, I play CvS2, and if CvS2 ever gets a re-release, I, and… well… any other real CvS2 player, would vehemently oppose any rebalancing. The games are what they are, and these are games that enjoyed 7+ year runs as competitive staples. There’s a reason for that, and having a bunch of mediocre players come in and muck it up is silly.
