One of the many reasons 3s needs to be re release is for the ability of play 3s on an hdtv.
i knew it was âother a thousandâ but unsure of wording for the concise point i was trying to make.
and again, that link just shows how far chess has come to get where it is now.
3s is hardly refined to perfection.
it is a very good game, that we all love (i assume) but no where near perfect.
what you really donât want is to have to start from scratch again.
what is with all the people who want Sean and Twelve buffed? do you all play those characters? somehow I doubt it. why canât a game just have a junk character or two?
Thatâs stupid, to have âjunkâ characters - for the sake of having them.
I think his point is, why is it compulsory for every character to be competitive in a game?
I actually think that was his point, what Shin mentioned⌠but⌠It isnât compulsory at all, on the other hand: If the opportunity arises to take an otherwise nonviable or mostly nonviable character and bring them up to tournament quality, why not take it?
Except standard chess is always a mirror match.
The fact that Capcom intentionally nerfed Sean to ass tier for no other reason than they need a joke character is a bit annoying. At this point if they cut and paste 2I Sean into 3s would it really effect the gameplay that much? If you think about it, they pretty much would be adding a new character since nobody played Sean seriously.
i wouldnât mind a new sf3 game as long as it isnât developed by anyone who worked on sf4. also, i hate it when shit gets nerfed too much so iâd rather see all characters brought up instead of down. sean was awesome in 2nd impact and was way more interesting to use compared to his shitty 3s version.
i donât know if some of us should get our hopes up since this is called âStreet Fighter 3: Third Strike: Online Editionâ and expect any changes. itâs probably going to be a ps2 port and not much else, although iâd love to be proven wrong.
I just lost all faith in mankind.
nice grammarâŚbutâŚI used to play 3s on an hdtv years ago at a friends and the lag was almost as bad as some xbox live matchesâŚwell not that bad but ehhh. Have the hdtv or plasmas refresh rates evolved yet so that lag is unnoticeable or is there still an issue? And yeah I havenât bought a hdtv yet because of this lag issue.
slaps forehead
so what are people expecting as a price point for this?
i think asking 1200 for a straight port with online vs modes is a little cheeky myself, although i would pay that for a decent version of 3rd strike to play on my 360.
Maybe because these characters were never given a serious chance? They donât have to be completely changed, just tweaked so theyâre better. No one wants to see chun mirrors all day.
You also forget different playstyles. not everyone picks chun to match their play style.
And you fail to mention that over half the cast is pretty much garbage compared to the top 8.
After playing ggpo for the last few days on a computer that could handle it (my laptop sucks), iâd have to conclude that 3s online (ggpo at least) is definitely bearable. If youâre the type that doesnât red parry and doesnât really do advanced hit confirms, itâs definately worth a try.
The online chat system is really weak. Apparantly there are players who log into ggpo with the sole purpose of just chatting?
I also witnessed someone say âI have the best Alex on GGPO and iâm better than 95% of GGPO playersâ and when I played him, I beat him really really bad and then he left the game. Apparantly saying âGGâsâ after is proper etiquette but I didnât even get that. Take it all in good fun is what I recommend.
if you can tolerate the level of immaturaty on GGPO chat system and dont mind trying to connect to the same person 1-10 times before you get the game running, itâs worth a shot. The players in the chat are clearly all talk and barely know anything about the game (aside from some key players. I never heard of this guy Bodler but I spectated a few of his matches and his Pink Sean is pretty damn good). GGPO definitely shouldnât be used as any sort of medium for determining how good you are vs the rest of the world. And if youâre a good player, youâre definitely going to kill some egoâs. Then again, I also donât mind logging onto GGPO to boost my own ego because with the players in there, it really isnât hard.
Is GGPO a joke? Yeah, it really is. However, if you take away the need to parry Alexâs ex slashes or kenâs b+mk overhead and donât mind losing to denjin ryu extremely frequently (good luck parrying that with the lag), itâs still something to do when youâre bored.
Just my two cents on this joke of a system.
I just uninstalled it lol.
Seeing as you are pretty much THE Sean player do you have an opinion on whether or not he should receive any changes? Thatâs if they even decide to do anything that is.
Donât take what anyone says in the GGPO chat seriously.
Not salty at all but⌠havent they made that game already? itâs called SSF4? Thank you and go post in ssf4
Also please DO NOT rebalance⌠how about adding a few more characters in? blanka? blanka in 24fps would be nice⌠but please no rebalancing, thank you!!
If it is redrawn like HDR, Every damn frame better be redrawn to perfection. That means speed and everything, Backgrounds, etc. I wouldnât mind this as long as gameplay is still intact. HDR may not have been ST but the essentials were there, and it did attract new players
if they do redraw the hit boxes better not be fucking retarded or something, it better be PRECISE like it is with original sexy 3s, i swear when i a lp hits, it HITS!!! theres no extra range on that bitch or anything, thats all i care for if they redraw it
C-Royd: What the Flip we never got to plaaay  (im sure your sean is better than bodlers)
ewwwww ppl comparing 3s to chess? thats disgusting.
chess is a masterpiece of a game. nothing in the world even comes close to it.
Kidding me? clearly you havent played connect4.
