Haha I don’t want to be playing solitaire on my shitty laptop.
Use it for training
in one of derek’s walkthroughs he pressed pause in training mode and the menu looked just like the dc and ps2 versions. maybe they modified the record feature so it records the dummy instead of your own character (in 2011 i still don’t know what the point of that was). doubt it though.
btw if anybody cares, if you wanted gill unlocked but aren’t interested in the theme, you don’t have to preorder the game. you just need to get it before september 19th.
Speaking of that it would be cool if they allowed you to do a 2 player training mode online but I doubt they’re gonna have that either. Only game I know that’s done that is KOF12 and funny enough that has one of the worst network modes of any fighter ever.
its too bad the game doesn’t unlock early for people who pre-ordered
Well, the guys at Capcom did say they browse these forums on occasion, here’s to hoping for an amped up training mode.:wonder:
yeah it does you get it on the 23 instead of the next day on xbox, i understand you probably mean for ps3 but just check around 6 pm eastern time and you’ll get it as early as possible.
Ryu will be up there with Ken so will akuma.
Personally I think it’ll go more like this
Ken/ryu/akuma/yun/
Chun/yang/Dudley
makoto/remy/elena/ibuki
oro/urien/hugo/alex
sean/twelve/gill(cause dat bitch’ll be BANNED)
Online tiers will look like this:
Characters I don’t like
Characters I sort of like
Meh
The two characters I actually like and Twelve.
jk I like everyone but you guys know what I mean. Right guys? Do you know?
i know what you mean, its that the online tiers put the characters you like at the bottom and the ones you don’t like at the top. Right? jk but i get you
every character I use is one you don’t like.
You can record a dummy on PS2. The problem is that the other character always parries. There’s been no indication yet that you can record a dummy without the other character parrying everything.
the training mode is the EXACT same as ps2 except for the save state feature. I personally checked myself.
when i asked derek neal personally why the cpu always auto parrys in parrying training (which it still does in 3soe) he didnt know what i was talking about.
I know, right?
Unless I see Mester-colored SA2 Yun, they be trollin.
I admire your optimism. not sure if I’m spoiled, or (un)realistic, or just jaded, but my personal expectations for 3soe are mostly negative.
For me the debate is 3soe or bust? Compared to arcade, everything is neutered. I shouldn’t have to explain this, but if someone wants to hear why, i could go into more detail. playing in tourny or even practice and you need to be accurate within one frame, or perfectly execute a combo, or need complete concentration you cannot rely on a neutered substitute and you cannot rely on or adapt to inconsistent factors. human error is a given, but when you cannot rely on the equipment, then fighting games, especially 3s, can become “dumbed down” because you cannot play to your full potential.
To me, 3soe will basically be like xbl again only possibly a better port/online play as well as a different set of circumstances and timing in the fighting game scene. maybe more dedicated players will stick around this time, who knows. the point for me is that unless 3soe was magically giving everyone h2h arcade in their homes with lag free conditions, i lose motivation to play. i love 3s and in order to play more, like most other people, i’ve dealt with the poor conditions of online emulated 3s, xbl, and console over the years. I’ve played rarely in optimal conditions in the few arcades left. the question keeps coming back: Do I suck it up, not complain and just play console, knowing of the 3s promise land we’re missing? Or, do I play only arcade, which is practically another way of saying quit?
It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all? 'Tis!
Too often people cry “elitist” without it being warranted. Many of the posters in these threads being called elitists aren’t even elite players - they’re simply players who actually put time and effort into the game.
To the name callers: you are just being lazy and juvenile, and that’s the reason you’re being criticized. Think about how pathetic that is - you are calling players elitists because they work and you don’t. you want all the same results, to be good at the game, to have a opinion that is valued, make an impact on the scene, etc., but you don’t do the work.
I’ve never liked the fgc, but this new generation is so unbelievable that they must be trolls. someone please tell me we’re being trolled. hope ono makes theory fighter maker next so everyone wins.
I’m gonna have to bust rank right now, but in my experience it doesn’t really matter how you treat new players, and I’d say I’ve put more time and effort into trying to grow 3s than almost anyone on this forum. If people want to learn, they will learn. FFA in the glory days was one of the most ruthless environments to learn 3s in yet it thrived. If you weren’t winning there you were treated like shit and you deserved it. I’m not trying to say its good to treat people like shit. Anyone who has visited Denjin should know I always tried to be hospitable and welcoming to players, but imo if people want to learn the game, they will learn, and if they don’t, then yeah, a couple rude remarks will shy them from the game. To me, if someone can drop the game so readily over something so small, they wouldn’t have ever amounted to anyone worth playing against anyway. If this pisses you off, then I hope it motivates people to train hard and shut people like me up. I’m not that hard to beat
Amen do I feel like that. Everybody that whines over tiers is always complaining about a matchup they can’t beat.
The only matchup I’ve EVER LEGIT COMPLAINED about - Blanka vs. DeeJay in Super Turbo. I have one move that beats anything he does and it’s a 50/50. You need to be really bad if you can’t beat a Blanka with DJ. LMFAO
i want oe naoooooooo. I agree about all the elitism talk also. it’s unwarranted for the most part.
