Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

I won’t buy it if its the same game. If I wanted to play 3S I’d find it cheap for the PS2.

MVC2 was just ported, and got no new name. HDR was a new SF2 game for all intents and purposes. “Online Edition” is a near-meaningless title for features other than internet multiplayer, so we’re going to have to wait and see.

To the guy attempting to improve upon 3S: Go for it. I don’t think the removal of parries is necessary (you’re at risk of turning it into even less interesting mush without a game mechanic seperate from other SF games) but it sounds like a fun project as a whole.

All I want is good netcode (on-par with ggpo would be great) and an arcade perfect port. Anything else they add doesn’t mean much to me as long as those two elements are there.

Seriously, people need to stop asking for a re-balance cause this game is mainly for people in the 3s scene. If the 3s scene isn’t big here its big in japan and compared to mvc2 and marvel.

I agree with everything you said HAV, but my issue is why 3S players won’t support a game with MINOR tweaks to balance. Not retarded shit like removing parry or making Chun’s SAII one super long bar.
Just make Ken/Chun/Yun a LITTLE less retarded and buff everybody from Alex on down slightly to be more competitive.

How is making more of the cast competitive anything but good?

I’m so fucking tired of the old-school “Sacred Cow” mentality for FGs in which everyone believes their favorite game is absolutely perfect and that even to suggest the game can be slightly improved is sacrilege of the highest order.

Ooooooh, telling me to go to GameFAQs. That’s really ballsy, dude.

My question is: If Capcom has the power to make a better version of 3S, why is everyone clamoring to play 3S as it is now instead of that better version. I mean, ignoring my whole anti-parry crusade, I think we can all agree here that 3S would better if it was better balanced. If that can happen, why not let it happen? If the worry is that the community will be split up, well, sorry, the community already IS split up. Plus, it’s not like 3S even has an American scene anymore, so, why be worried about a split?

Yeah because they aren’t for making new fans for the game./blatent sarcasm

lol at anyone who thinks this is only coming out cause its for th e real diehard 3s fans the fact of the matter is that if it would not bring a profit it would not be developed or released and theere are quite a bit of people on neogaf and everywher eelse that say “3rd Strike is the best fighting game ever made. there’s Just Something About It and i cant really put my finger on what makes it the best ever.”

I would like

Updated graphics with 1080p resolution

The ability to use NG/2I backgrounds

Honestly I’ve owned this game (and the NG/2I combo on DC) on 4 different consoles and currently own it on PC. If it’s the same game why the fuck buy it?

What about a Hyper mode, wherein you could pick 3S, 2I, or NG versions of the characters? 2I Sean for life!

Yea a Hyper SFIII would be very awesome.

I have great idea. Let’s take out parries so that Denjin Ryu becomes god tier.

that’s what I am hoping for. Then everybody can be happy balance doesn’t mean shit when we can have different characters be better in different versions.

I hope they release SFA3 MAx and Vampire Chronicles for PSN/XBL soon.

Well they have to take Denjin out of the game cuz tink it 2 gdlk n stuf.

As for parries, I’d like it to be like in CVS2. Very strict timing.

Pick P groove then. laugh

Rebalance is a bit much to be asking for. They said they were giving us 3s. 3s is unbalanced and I wouldn’t expect anything else.

-GGPO Netcode
-Arcade perfection (VER. A plz)
-Color edit (heh heh)
-Option for arranged/original sounds.

That’s about all I could reasonably ask for.

HD Remix has a decent little scene going, it seems. At the very least it gets played at majors and at some local tournaments, which is effectively where ST was at before (though really, I don’t recall ST being at a whole lot outside of majors prior to HDR). Didn’t it have the 2nd highest turnout at Evo two years straight?

I’m not buying straight up 3rd Strike again; I already have it for Dreamcast and Xbox and don’t really give enough of a shit about the game to buy it just because it has netcode. A hyper mode would be pretty sweet, though, as would adding in music and stages from the previous two SF3 releases. Because I don’t know where Capcom’s head was in the turn of the century, but they were doing spectacularly ass-y for music and stages on their fighters around that time.

What? The only reason this game is coming out is because people who like 3s begged for it. Do you think capcom would port this game cause it make profit from? DEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR 3s has a bigger fan base than mvc2 and cvs2, bigger fan base means more money.

Actually Id attribute the music sucking to capcom trying to emulate Acid jazz that was pretty big at the time. Around 2I-3s House/DnB came back around so that what you heard in their games.

paired with one giant super bar that takes ages to build.
