Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

I’d be cool with either of these two options:

Rebalance the game and keep an option to make the game arcade perfect

HSF3

B-b-but Hnk is very balanced! it only has one tier, S-tier.

But it’s still pretty broken.

the point is, in hokuto no ken atleast you know you’re “***already dead!***” when you’re “***already dead!***” but in street fighter vs chun li, it makes you keep fighting and believing you can do it. what kind of monsterous game let’s you believe you have a fighting chance then take it all away from you at the last minute

EVO will clearly be showing their bias against third strike if they don’t add it. I know they are all for sponsorships now, but if this is re-released it warrants it being re-added since the game isn’t dead. Mvc2 didn’t even get 2nd place on the poll, and the excuse for it being added was that the GG community didn’t want blazblue on the lineup. However, the biggest bs was that they put mvc2 because it was “nextgen.” If they could use that excuse then that means 3rd strike warrants it being on the lineup again since its now “nextgen.”

That’s actually the only good news about this re-release cuz online is ass  Even GGPO has its problems so this will be worse as a given. I just want the scene “revived” since in order to get the masses of idiots to play a game it has to be legitimized with a re-release, and not just solely on a games merit. Hopefully this will allow people who despise SFIV to have a refuge.

Also, people clamoring for balance tweaks aren’t truly 3rd strike players. The game gives you the tools necessary to overcome any obstacle. Whether it is a character or tactic you are being frustrated with. Stop trying to change the game, and instead fix inadequacies inherent in your own play. The only reason why tiers are so apparent all the time is because the best players out there are using these top tier characters because they are in it to win. The best players can still mess you up with Q if they want to.

Obviously, there are so people out there that think that you can just tweak things slightly and then the game isn’t damaged buy optimally improved. However, the consequences of minor changes here and there are actually larger than what is noticeable at face value.

I don’t understand why people can’t appreciate the game for what it is, and notice that you can clearly play anyone in the roster as long as you put in the work.

Whoa, 16 pages of hype.

Anyway, I can’t speak too much about 3S since I only played it when I was like 7 and I sucked bad. (C’mon I was 7) But if it’s true that Chun/Yun/Ken dominated the tourneys then isn’t that enough of an indicator that it is, maybe not broken per se. But not totally balanced?

What’s wrong with balancing it? Okay, release two versions: a balanced one, and the original. It may create a schism between the people that play each version but AT LEAST try and give it a shot.

Shit man, why’s everyone afraid of a little change? And you can say ‘‘well why change something that’s proven to be successful?’’. Which is a good point, but my question to you is: Do you HONESTLY think the game is without flaw? Do you HONESTLY think it is above any type of criticism, critiquing, and change? If you say yes then you’re a fucking brainwashed tool.

Change is scary sometimes, but this isn’t one of those times. If Capcom is willing to cooperate in improving the game why the fuck aren’t you salivating at the mouth for it? Why are you content with the s.o.s? Why don’t you want the BEST?/rant

Anyone who is still playing 3S after all this time is someone who is happy with the game as it is. Their opinion is pretty biased obviously.

I guess Capcom needs to decide whether they’re purely selling this game to those players who are still playing the game, or risk offending those players in order to chase after those who have left the game or dismissed the game, or those who are put off by what theyve seen/heard about it.

I doubt anyone here can accurately predict which way will yield more sales. I guess Capcom should do some market research. (although inevitably that leads to casualisation… so maybe not?)

Because it’s easier to blame it on the characters + call the game broken than put in actual work!

Anyway, the visible hitbox in training mode idea is nice. I’d like to see more of that in FGs. Otherwise, put me in the “Don’t fuck with the game” camp.

I don’t think a re-balance is in order, for one simple reason: In order to dominate with those characters, you have to actually be GOOD AT THE GAME. And if you are, chances are Chun/Yun/Ken or whoever else you might think of won’t be much of a match. It’s all about your skills, and if they can’t pay the bills, that’s no one else’s problem but your own.

Personally, I’m mostly just excited to get to play 3S online with my one and only true love, Ibuki, in all her 2D glory <3

why should the game cater to you if you’re just some guy that’s gonna dabble with it until the next shiny game is out? Obviously, as a monetary standpoint it should unfortunately, but that’s life. However, I don’t see why the game needs to be changed if people already enjoy it as is.

I’m with Lane on this one, people need to stop being bitches and just realize the only reason top tiers dominate in the US is because the US is pretty trash at 3s in general compared to Japan.

Give me a straight up port.

the problem with going after those players who left it already is that they’re still going to suck at the game even after the rebalance and then leave it for another game later

then all the people who loved it as is just get a changed game they didnt want.

Haha at people denying the dominance of certain characters in this game. All matchups are 5-5 in 3S don’t worry!

Okay lets completely over-haul Super SF4 and ST/HDR because some people have bad matchups

Capcom want new players to come into the 3rd strike field too. I think it’s pretty inevitable there will be re-balancing. It will be for the better anyway people need to stop crying about thispathetic argument. There is a reason you only see Chun/Yun/ Ken, balanced much?

It’s because the US sucks dick at 3s, I already explained why you only see top tier here.

wtf, 3s online came before cvs2

capcom is fucking up

no one is saying its perfectly balanced

but it is not broken

the game is fine

All I want is a reason to buy this game. A proper Online Edition deserves proper online features. Otherwise I’ll just stick to GGPO when I feel like playing 3S. At GGPO is based on a common platform and I don’t need to buy 2 copies.

Not bothering to address my why opinion is wrong means you automatically lose the argument, dawg.

a new feature set, modes, hitboxes, better training mode options, lobbies

these are ALL reasons to buy the game for next gen consoles

it doesnt need a lame rebalance to sell
