Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

That is new info to me as well. Eleven years and still learning little bits and pieces about this game, lol.

The exhibition was kinda underwhelming if you were hoping for top flight 3S action, but sadly this was the result predicted in this in this same thread. Imo, it could have been far better if they took the time to choose players who have keep in practice with the game. But at least it was somewhat entertaining. I was actually hoping for Rockefeller to be doing commentary, but the Ultradavid, James Chen duo wasn’t bad at all.

WTF? People claiming to not want to buy the game after the exhibition (which was admittedly so-so)?

The streammonsters in chat I assume?

Chris G
Tokido
Momochi
Mr.Naps
ROM

That is a better exhibition list right there, and they all attended.

Oh, and Sanchez aka “louiscipher”…

Don’t let it bother you, they were either trolls or people who were just looking for any excuse to not get the game.

The fuck is wrong with some of the people in this thread… Not only does the game have to be arcade perfect, EVERYTHING relating to this game has to be perfect for you guys.

Eff that! All I want in an exhibition is:
Amir
Sextaro Inoue

Rockefeller on commentary.

Hot nacho dip.

Replace Tokido with Sanchez and yeah, this really would have been a better list. He was the ONLY guy that managed to make things interesting. Fubar and Hsien were still solid, but this exhibition really could have used some pizzazz.

Fuckin’ exactly.

EVO did turn off a lot of people from 3SOE because of the exhibition. I mean, I turned it off. C’MON!

Hey dude how you doing.
Maybe when you’re done acting like a jackass you can learn a few things. ~_^

Eye want 2 fuck ur ass.

hate to sound cynical but i can understand that sentiment right now. if i was waiting for marvel or sf4 to begin and didn’t know what 3S was, i probably wouldn’t dish out the $15 based on that display alone. the tragic part is that i felt like the game was doing a fine job of marketing itself so far. the staff telling people about the great features and letting them try it out themselves at conventions was going so well. the whole exhibition thing has me feeling awkward about where this release stands in the public eye right now.

btw dev, were you talking about my post? i meant the crowd in the venue. you can’t extrapolate stream chats into anything meaningful.

OGs have high standards.

Anyone who had high expectations for the 3S exhibition is an idiot.

Also, James Chen said quite a few things that were blatantly incorrect.

Was anyone else dissapointed when Sanchez didnt start off his first match at the beginning of the round with THE BOOT?

Overall the exhibition was pretty meh. I dont really know how you could do 3s justice though without flying over Danisen participants from Japan.I mean the fundamentals exhibited by the players were all really good, but nothing was shown that was particularly unique about 3rd Strike. If they wanted something unique they should have tryed to get more people playing characters that arent in any other fighter. For that reason I think Gootecks would have been a good choice for his Urien, then maybe someone like Hungbee for Oro and daggerG for Remy. ChrisG would have been interesting too, considering he actually mains Sean. Some more examples of good parrying for counter attacks wouldve helped aswell.

They should have just run an actual tournament, all comers welcome. Or maybe they shouldve done a single elimination, single game, 12 man invitational.

dude wtf. didn’t you get top 32 in marvel or something lol. or is that another cheech wizard from the uk playing the exact team. good shit if that was you. if you were there live for 3S, what did you think the crowd’s response was like for the game?

It’s the very same Cheech Wizard.

Yeah that was me. Thanks man.

The crowd didnt boo or anything and there were moments were it looked like something exciting was gonna happen and people were ooing then nothing exciting even happened. The crowd was respectful of the game but I will admit there was no hype in the crowd. There was some shit talk and shouting/hype from pockets of the crowd from who I assume to be Sanchezs friends but that was about it.

The most hype people got was when they went into the pause menu whilst in a match and they showed that you could switch characters without having to go back to character select.
