Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

anyone that is decent with execution can finish ALL the trials in probably 30 mins or less. maybe 45 if you count loading time.

only the parrying trials require parrying. theres 10 of them. hardest one is lets go justin. 2nd to hardest one is parry ex yagyou, or block the first hit of Q sa1 and red parry the rest. i forget.

loading time is really annoying. its not long but its there.

i dont know what was up with the sticks there or the way they were wired, but i couldnt pick proper colors of characters. for example i chose fp black Q, and got the green one.

if i went between trials/arcade mode/training mode, i kept getting the wrong button config and had to set buttons.

i dont think there is anyway to reset the game quickly back to the menu. for example i picked the wrong super at the character select screen and had to wait for my opponent to select his, then wait for match intro to load, then ā€œREADY FIGHTā€, then i could quit back to the main menu. annoying.

sorry if everything i am posting is negative. but all i care about is arcade perfect gameplay. yeah its cool i can select my buttons at the character select screen, but why cant i quickly reset if there was a mistake? it still wont get rid of button checks at tourneys. id still want to check, dont want to start a game where jab is rh.

all i want is 3rd strike. and so far all the extra shit seems to be wack. i hope the youtube sharing thing comes thru, because that sounds dope. everything else extra…

thanks ryan. for a while i thought 3S was going to get lost in the void at sdcc because of the mega man and marvel stuff going on. were the online menus accessible? if so, did you notice anything interesting about the searching criteria or whatnot? like if it was the generic region/language that other games have used? can you customize the criteria or do anything to make matchmaking more effective?

dc version had all of those visual problems. bag didn’t fall over, poisons colours were updated and 2p aegis was purple. i guess the bag not falling over in the ign videos was an anomaly, or they’ve already fixed it. they aren’t porting the dc version.

i didnt go into online mode sadly.

i am 90% sure i saw the bag fall over, but i only noticed it one time. i could have been trippin.

I absolutely love the fact that a bag falling over is something extremely important.

Don’t get me wrong I understand why, I just love how loony this makes the entire 3s US community seem. I hope you were both tripping and the bag actually did fall. Win win.

Yeah, it’s arcade perfect or bust for some folks. Some of these little differences I’ve never heard of until this thread, to be honest. I never realized stuff like the color of Aegis or even Poison being affected by the player side. Can’t fool the diehard, man…

Well it should definitely be as arcade perfect as is possibly feasible. Having now played on a h2h versus city cab, playing anything else isn’t quite the same. Arcade perfect is ideal because it unites everyone under one 3s banner so all the bullshit and timing issues are no more. The game is just something special and everyone who has invested countless hours of their lives into it just wants to see a proper console port that captures at least the timing of 3S on a proper cab.

Makes me wish I’d been playing this when it first came out.

Yup, dat Ryu duffel bag = serious business lol. Here’s to hoping for more footage before the release date.

i like how the trailers they put out just contain a bunch of random supers being blocked/not combo’d into or showing things that don’t even work or look good

How hard can it be to port a game from the late 90’s? :wonder:

Hey man, if its 98% arcade perfect, I can live with that. I’ll sacrifice 2% to introduce new players to 3s.

This is where I first seen it, I’m pretty sure he did invent it. I remember him looking at me, pointing at the screen quickly and performing it while looking at me to see my reaction lol.

hahahahaha exactly!!!

Good point. As far as we can live with little disagreements such as Aegis color or ā€˜Ryu bag does not fall’ things, we should be happy to introduce new players to 3S! Don’t forget : playing arcade is still possible people, if we don’t like OE and we perceive at a short-term that the game is a bullshit compilation (which is very unlikely IMO) you can take your coins and go to the nearest arcade center

It looks good to the people not familiar with 3rd Strike, which is mainly who those trailers are for.

They get those trailers, the diehards, get feed with the technical info and details.

Well ryan’s report sounds good. I already hook my 360 to a crt to play sf4 so lag won’t be an issue… lets cross fingers

Anybody has an idea about the ā€œJā€ success in the trailer (almost min 1:44, hugo vs. urien)? Is it ā€œjudgement winā€?
I guess…:wonder:

EDIT: have the answer. Never noticed before!

as long as its better than ps2, ill take it

I just realized something about Sean: I don’t think he’s actually Brazillian. I think he’s just black.

I mean, dude likes Basketball. Brazillian main sports are Baseball and Football.
Dude’s basketball is red, white, and blue. Brazil’s colors are Yellow and Green.

I’m sure there’s more evidence. I’m sure someone else has thought of this. I’m also sure I’m a dumbass, but I figured I’d mention it anyway.

Yeah! And Ryu isn’t Japanese! He’s American!

Like think about it; his hadouken is blue, his head band is red, and his gi is white. Japan’s colors are just red and white and not red white and blue (US)
Also like he says his R sounds like REAL HARD. Like a bit fat American ar like it sounds like shoRRRyuken!!!
He also has like really short win quotes because he doesn’t know a lot of Japanese, so he just says like a couple words and gets it over with.
Oh and aslo! when he does EX fireball all he can think about is chocoloate? fat Aerican much???

Maybe one of his parents is a Brazilian immigrant to America.
