Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

I did notice the thread you pointed out, I even contributed to it. And yes at this point it is fair to assume that they are using one of the console versions as a base. However what I’m asking is for people to point out things to help Capcom bring 3SO to parity with the arcade verion. I hope to not come over as a prick, but that simply isn’t quite the same issue. For example, FACENC points out the portraits aren’t colour matched to the player, an element which makes it easier to follow mirror matches. We already know what went wrong with the older console versions, the important thing is to alert Capcom about what doesn’t measure up with the arcade standard, based on what we observed of the new game.

i did notice (it’s the same hugo vs ken vid with the combo message error, right?) but i thought it would technically be considered an improvement and we wouldn’t know whether it’s due to console influence or an intentional reappearance from scratch. they’ve added in the console colours so i thought most people would prefer the variety in poison’s colours to go along with that. i dunno.

when is this coming out? there’s a preview on xbl but it still doesn’t have a release date. must have soon.

so is this capcom’s way of telling me I need to get a supergun? God-fucking-dammit. I wish instead of having all those goddamn achievements they’d just give me what they’re advertising (arcade perfection). I can take a few anomalies here and there but these lists are getting fucking longer and longer. If the actual speed of the game is still too fast I’m gonna be pissed. And why the CUNT don’t the portraits match the fighters? Fuckdamn!! When was THAT hard to do/replicate?

I don’t think I even care when this game comes out anymore…

It’s not really a difference from arcade anymore, but I noticed in the trailer that Q’s lifebar portrait used new art, while others use ikeno’s
(anyway I’d also prefer to have original little portraits that match the palette, it helps to see who’s who in amirror match).

Wow, didn’t even notice that until you pointed it out.

Capcom, please fix this – it really is one of those necessary little touches which raises a B to an A!

Honestly, won’t know until the game comes out or someone gets some inside information.

Simply put, this statement echoes the thoughts of most here on this forum, simply an arcade perfect game. However RaishinX, I wouldn’t give up hope on the gameplay just yet, if Derek Neal and company went to the trouble of testing the speed of 3SO with the CPS3 original there is a good chance they got the other intricacies which make up the arcade game. If not, they have stated they are willing to provide support through patches.

Hrm, when you look at it that way, I guess you can say its an addition. But I’d honestly just have the game match the arcade version visually rather than have the console colours. But there is no reason why we can’t have it both ways. If they implemented a colour palette selector for the console characters on the start or select button like that seen in Blazblue. Then make the original arcade colours selectable by buttons. Simple solution, the people who like the console colours get what they want, and the ‘cranky arcade purists’ like myself get what Capcom has repeatededly advertised.

Okay…

calms down

I know ‘arcade perfection’ is the claim, but as long as the speed and gameplay are there who really cares?

A few touches not being in there may make it less of a perfect game, but as long as the fighting is fine its OK with me

You forgot to mention it also looks like shit. No idea why they changed those things. I guess because since the hud was made high def they needed high def material for the in-game portrait and it was simpler/quicker/cheaper to just use the art.

Certainly. One can dream though, right? As long as it runs as fast as the cps3 board or 99.9% as fast it will be a really useful game.

Exactly…They look terrible, but I have to agree that this makes the most sense. Its just too bad they decided to go with those illustrations.

Thought this was interesting, it’s TA but interesting and shows the 990512 designation and blue aegis for 2P for future ref.

Now going to watch more…

if you wanted a reference for blue aegis, i don’t know why you’d choose a tool assisted video with hacked palettes. i’m pretty sure you can customize the colours of all projectiles, including aegis.

Seriously

OR

PIZZZAAAAAAAPIZZZAAAAAAPETE’S

NOW THAT IS THE TRUE QUESTION OF THIRD STRIKE.

Considering this a game of martial arts discipline, why don’t people ever consider taking the same approach in learning it that a martial artist would. Like learn some cultural value beyond “omg dey all won da tournaments I will bow too them and squadge da hatuurss”

I used to watch martial arts epics or Kung Fu with David Carradine before big tournaments. I lost that. I don’t know why.

I can’t stand Elena’s song. It’s *too * repetitive.
