Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

Stop making the motion more than once. Learn the timing for your wake up. SF4 is one of a handful of games that has such input timing leniency when it comes to reversals that you can literally lazily mash out your specials and get reversal timing, so start getting rid of your bad habits now if you want to learn a different game. The timing for waking up with normals is even smaller (even in SF4), but that’s something you might want to learn someday, so it’s one more reason to tighten your execution. And the whole them hearing the cranking irl.

tl;dr stop that

Yeeeahhhhh, take R_Panda’s advice. This is a very bad habit in fighting games in general, so I advise you to stop that.

Dudley’s Jet Upper has no invincibility. If you feel like you have to use it on wakeup, use the EX version. Otherwise, just block, jump, parry WHATEVER. Take a guess, because it’s Makoto.

Welcome to the world of Street Fighter 3. It’s not just Dudley…even Chun and Yun players will complain about her from time to time.

Dudley’s normal Jet Upper just sucks. Quit using it outside of combos. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeh, using Dudley in 4 there is so much stuff you can get away with that you wont in 3S. Uppercuts definitely a no go most of the time, if youre going to risk it in 3S outside of a combo then really the LP version is the only relatively safe option. Even in anti airs in 3S I find a well timed cr HP to be the safer option most of the time for a similar amount of damage to LP DP or just a back mk.

worried

…yeah, that’s funky. I hope it’s just ign’s fault though. D:

This is what you call drama? I think it was pretty clearly an issue with the widescreen filter, I’m sure changing it to stretched fixes it.

Move on with your drama, and stop jerking off to each others troll posts.

but changing it to stretched makes the sprites wider so obviously nobody is going to use that. and it doesn’t add additional screen space. thanks for embarrassing yourself again.

it’s not just ign though. the same thing happens in a hugo vs ken match recorded with a camera.

SF4: Creating bad habits since 2008 :frowning:

As for the combo meter, I’m sure it’ll be fixed. You can always point it out to them (d3v can’t you?) and hopefully they’ll fix it.

Geez, first they reuse the console graphics instead of those from the original arcade, now this. At least they said they are willing to fix it. We definitely need to inform Capcom about the details that they’ve missed once the game is released.

Well the one advantage to Capcom going patch crazy is that they can hopefully use that to patch legitimate issues like this that people find.

Who said drama beside you?
Is it really that hard to understand an obvious and stupid mistake like this can make people worried about the quality of the final product instead of vomit your usual agressive crap answer?

Sorry, just seems like people bitching over nothing and making mountains out of molehills to me.

Maybe you should consider not taking everything so seriously. Add funny guy tags to most posts and it’ll make it easier to regulate your blood pressure.

Maybe you should stop trolling and posting weird shit to amuse the 3 or so dudes trolling the thread too? No?

Here’s your funny tag: Troll thread is troll-ed

I use stretch when I play 3S on GGPO. Is that bad?

That tag wasnt funny. Try again.

What is this trolling you’re talking about? I’ll accept responsibility because I can see that it is hurting your feelings, but I really don’t know what you’re talking about. This stuff isn’t weird, they’re references to things from the past. I am posting something that jogs the memory of those who have experienced it as well. You probably aren’t even old enough to have been around when that game was being played. Nobody here is trolling this thread, if you read back, the three or so dudes trolling the thread too are the ones that have been feeding the thread most of it’s meat. Just because you don’t understand what they’re talking about doesn’t make it trolling, it makes you stupid.

Go play sf4 or keep playing ggpo with your teleporting characters.

I was playing on ggpo today and instead of dashing everyone would teleport, and then after being reset out of the air and sent full screen by dudley’s stand fierce my opponent would EX machine gun blow full screen. I got hit by it of course because I just can’t wrap my head around why anyone would do that. Why condition yourself to do something so stupid? Why expose your mind to such filth!

I feel like a 3s snob.

I went back to playing 3rd Strike and was finding myself struggling with my execution because SF4s leniency let me get away with too much. Now since I posted about that, Ive been playing 3S a bit more and found when I went back to SF4 Ive actually found my execution in SF4 has improved alot more. Its really helped to drill out bad habits and tighten up my control a lot more. 3S is making me a better player.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be 3S that makes you improve your overall game; I know that there have been players who credit playing other fighters like CvS2 to help them understand fundamentals more, or Marvel2 for reaction and execution. Still, I’m glad it’s 3S that’s helping your game. lol

Just wanted to correct this, but capcom did try to balance the characters a little bit. The keyword is TRY. They nerfed top tier damage output, took out kim’s inf. and other random things.
