It’s not really a health consciousness thing for most people. In almost all cases of “straight edge” people, it stems from an idea that certain things (drinking/sex/recreational drugs) are just “bad” or “wrong,” which is a big reason why a majority of “straight edge” people give up on it around college age.

Not only is straight edge a stupid, attention whoring waste of time, but like Silks mentioned it’s just peer pressure to get others to do something, almost the opposite of why you claim your group exists in the first place. Let people make their own choices, as you expect them to let you make yours. The reasons why you should and should not do something are generally pretty obvious, and you can make your own decision on whether something is worth your time or not.

I find straight edge as a group to be pretty fucking dumb, but a gaming group that also just happens to be straight edge? Even dumber. Nonsensical. Inane. Whatever you want to call it, it shouldn’t exist. Your group will flounder and you will find you have wasted your time.

Seriously though, how fucking old are you? Your grammar and spelling are terrible, your ideas are poorly developed, and you don’t seem to know what you want from this group yourself. Where are you guys meeting up? You got a site or forum for yourself? You’re an unorganized piece of trash.

I’m joining Curved Edge and the Lolicon group. Fuck hash and smoke lolis all day long.

ok thanks for your post this was just a idea that i wanted to throw out there and see what people though about it. I know my spelling is bad and the way i type sucks also lol. I never intended to change any one like i said i just wanted to organize people that are straight edge. I dont plan on changing people or forcing people to change.

Maybe you should promote something else instead of using Straight Edge as a way to get gamers into your group.
I’d rather join the Skinhead Neo Nazi group that plays Street Fighter IV instead.

Anyone who can keep up with this lifestyle around college age is made of pride and awesome. The more peer pressure against drugs/smoking/drinking, the better I say. We need more of that kind of thing.

Also y’all shut up. Straight-edge gaming club sounds great. At least for people like me who like hanging out with their group and NOT being laughed at for being the only one who doesn’t drink vodka el binge and/or do other stupid shit like that.

yea i agree but like i said i dont drink or smoke or do any street drugs but i never considered my self to be straight edge. So i never was in the SxE community. I dont know any SxE websites or forums.

For me, it’s not about being health conscious, it’s about not wanting to be out of control of my own actions, or mentally alter me in any way. Any substance which alters my decision making can do nothing but bad things to my life, so why give it that power?
