The points awarded worked like this:

1st place (Gold) = 10 points
2nd place (Silver) = 7 points
3rd place (Bronze) = 5 points
4th place = 3 points
5th place = 2 points
7th place = 1 point

I think Kusumondo was really tired the first day since he arrived the day of the tournament. He pretty much started playing in the tournament right after he arrived/checked in. Also, maybe his reactions are becoming old man reactions.

BTW, (re: MillerTime), the ladies had a good showing at EVO. MillerTime did well in the Ratio Tournament defeating Marsgatti, James Chen and she defeated Chris Gamble in one of the other tournaments. And Empress took out Immortal and Zoolander over the two days. They’re the real deal!

Kusumondo was definitely not playing as fiercely as he did last year. I chalk it up to him being extremely tired on the first day, since I believe he had literally just gotten off the airplane when he came to play ST. He missed a LOT of headbutt punishes over the low tiger shot at full screen, which I know he has the reactions to do consistently. He seemed off his game this year, but he still enjoyed his time here.

I’ll be sure to pass that nice message along to Millertime. It’s encouraging to her to see people react so positively to her performance in the tournament, and it’s most certainly a morale-booster.

The ladies of socal represented well. They did better in Winner’s bracket than half of us, including myself. I think I invested all of my efforts into the team tournament, and spent the rest of the weekend as a walking ST zombie.

ST Games was awesome, I caught most of the stream and glad to see all those tournaments go smoothly. Well the finals of one of them (the ratio tournament?) only showed the Damdai and Afro’s faces as they played but no complaints- thank to Mando and guys for all the work streaming it!

The recording station where they played, near the cabs, was having some trouble capturing the finals that day for whatever reason. I was able to get it on cam, though.

EDIT: @fatboy, were you lifting without a spotter?

Kusumondo has played on a cab for 20 years and I’ve played on ggpo with a stick on my lap for 3.

Also, I’ve never really played a top Honda either.

And if you guys are gonna say its just a bs matchup, so is Dee Jay vs Honda and Ryu vs Honda etc etc etc

It probably helps Valle be sure he gets the SRK. It’s similar in theory as to why people double tap. In case you mis-time your attack, your follow-up button presses help ensure you get it out.

A little late here but I just wanted to thank the TO’s and the ST Players.
EVO was alot of fun. I especially liked the team tourney, it was hype. Wish there was more time for casuals and partying but it was alot more fun than TOL IMO. Shout outs to the EC Crew for coming out and playing very well. Good to actually meet MARS and Ganelon as well this year along with Bernie, moonchild, etc… I hope to make it out next year for whatever awesomeness STR, Kuroppi and crew come up with.

Shout outs:
MillerTime and Stacy for repping SuperArcade, I was “empressed” but not surprised at their performance.
Shoto’s, DSPaperCUT, DGV, AFRO, Moocus, ElTrouble,Wicked for consistantly raising the bar and helping me get better. It inspired my cousin and brother, who came out to support me, to pick up some sticks and start playing.

CVITAL and Hadoken69, it was hella hype teaming up with you guys… I didn’t really know I was going to EVO until last minute and alot of the WC guys had formed teams. So I reached out to CVItal whos my boy since HF on XBL and formed a pretty solid team. Man that was fun.

Damdai and Afro proved their skills by consistently placing 1st and 2nd, congrats to you both.

AFRO You the man bro… Lucky to be able to play with you often. Back in the day when 15th Anniversary first came out, my homie was playing online for the first time. He said “There’s some black fool named AfroLegends that plays online, that MFkr F’d me up”. LOL… ANd your still beasting 10 yrs later.

GGs to everyone I played. Honestly, i wasn’t practicing and sorta lost my competitive drive heading into EVO and was ready to call it quits and retire after. But then when i got there and started playing, the fire came back. I realized i still love the game. Been playing it all my life and will prolly come back next year for the encore do you want more…

I was feeling the same way for a bit, i was a little burnt out from TOL last year and wasn’t as hungy to play well for ST Games, but seeing that I still placed better than I thought, the fire is now burning. I LOVE THIS GAME… lets do it even bigger next year. I’m looking for those Top 3 spots next year… Look out for Big Digital…
