The raffles have been out of hand for a while, and yeah its a bad look for the community, anyone with any type of knowledge of the law knows they are illegal, but so is jaywalking which I do between 5-50 times a day and have never been busted for even though I do it regularly in front of police officers. Here the thing, if I know its illegal and the cop on the corner knows its illegal and we both know he isn’t going to say anything to me about it then I’m going to keep doing it and that is disregarding the fact that that illegal action isn’t even making me money. Things would change quickly if people start getting busted but at this point there is money to be made and no significant or immediate negative reprocussions.

Top players can serve burgers to make it to tournaments if the rest of us can. If winning locals on a regular basis, winning majors, and a sponsorship can’t make that happen, then you should look into that instead of cashing in on your fucking fanbase. It makes you look scummy. Asking for donations and literally just running 24/7 raffles like FGTV are two different things… They could ask for donations 24/7 and I wouldn’t give a shit, but these raffles are fucking retarded. Niggas wanna throw they money in the ring with every other retard at a 1 in 500 chance of getting a joystick, rather than just saving up the money to buy one.

I am no way shape or form trolling the thread. On the other hand putting this in GD makes it subject to a variety of subjects the administration doesn’t like as is. So if it wants a more mature response it could be achieved by: 1) Making sure that the next Evo season has a clause which states TO’s cannot have raffles, 2) it can contact most of the popular streamers since the majority of them live on the west coast (and invariably they all have twitter), 3) he could make an article about it (although kotaku has itchy keyboard fingers), 4) they could also make a sticky on the tournament thread about the raffles.
The logistics of the site and the general posting behaviors all suggest that moving the thread would improve its quality in a couple of hours.
I don’t really know you, but this makes me question how well you thought this out. Almost everyone of any celebrity in this world pulls cash from their fan base. A huge majority relies on that fan base to make any money.
