Besides every annoying factor you all said, poor choice of text color annoys me as well.
example - red text over the black screen.

Um, that’s actually a really smart color choice.

Me? =D
thats kind of the point of combo videos
just read the request box: man, boy do i also hate that annoying song selection shit as well. i have het to here a awsome combo w/ a tight rap selection, and NOT LINKIN!!! FOR HEAVENS SAKE NOT LINKIN. man i swear, if i hear another oldie from them on a com,vid im going to go on a rampage!!!
That doesn’t explain why it was crap. You just answered my question by just stating what my question was asking. And the crappy music, especially in that so-called crappy video, Hinako’s Well-Chosen combos, actually did match the rhythm of the footage of the video.
So I’ll ask again, how is James Chen’s choice of music superb and appropriate for his combo video? Also, why was it relevant to the game/footage?
The point of those combos is to show everything that is possible…to get the maximum number of hits or damage from a particular setup. If you don’t like the fireball setup being impractical, just remove the fireball from the setup and you got a more practical combo…
Well actually in the video I think he’s talking about it really is an impossible combo. Chun throws an EX Kikouken mid screen and then both characters out run the fireball by dashing to the corner. when the fireball finally hits remy I think it was, the hit stun allowed the chun player to combo stuff thats impossible without the fireballs hit stun. Interesting to show the limits of the games system but ultimately impossible.
If you don’t want combos like that, watch a tutorial vid, not a combo vid. They are pretty much the same thing, except tutorial vids are usually by people who don’t have a programable controller so they can’t get those combos with 8 1 frame links, so they show less flashy combos(but half of which are still impractical, just easy to do) and call it a tutorial video.
At least thats how it used to be. Some better tutorial videos have been comeing out lately. Thats probably what you(margalas) wants anyway, since it will also have things like block strings, mixups, and other such things that you can use in a match.
ROFL.
Omg, I totally laughed at this. I know what you mean. I remember watching this 10 minute KOF combo video just cuz it had awesome music, but dear lord, when I actually watched it, about 4 minutes of it was random words I didn’t understand, then random things that would interrupt the combo midway through for no reason, like, a big random white block of letters you can’t read that said something like “Triple H” or something, I don’t even know, lol.
Also, I hate that stupid overlay crap. I mean, it looks good if something great happens, but not when it’s used as much as you can. Also, why do video scrubs use the zoom in button over and over? I mean, I can see if it’s to make a point in or two parts, but when it’s used constantly, just even walking, like in a lot of World of Warcraft videos, noobs zoom in when they are walking to a battle…why?
The music thing is a little half and half for me. As long as the music is decent and isn’t like “RAAAAAAAAAWRRR, EAT MY BLOOD AND FEECESSSSSS, RAAAWRRRRRR!!!” or some shit where i’ve heard from my friend’s shitty iPOD, then i’m fine with it. A lot of songs I heard on music videos that I like I will download, so using J-Pop or whatever type of music isn’t bad at all, imo.
Ouch.

T_T That sucks…
Your tears will cry.
MY EYES, THEY BLEED !
I’m pretty sure you are an exception.
Wow…I’d really like to know what possessed him to do that.
I’m not talking about combos that are hard to land, I’m talking about combos that can only be landed when your opponent purposely helps you land them.
I’m all for combos that stretch the limits on the engine, combos that only work on one character, one frame links, combos that only work when they hit someone at the peak of their jump, counter-hit only combos, etc. I’m talking about combos that you can’t even set up without first explaining to the other player exactly what they need to do.
A combo that starts with someone backdashing 10 times or jumping backwards 5 times really doesn’t excite me any more than a combo that starts with unplugging the P2 controller.
One or two of those in a vid is fine, but I’ve seen vids where half of the combos are like that.
Combos that require the second player to do something non-trivial are for the most part kind of silly.

Yo.
of course hundreds of combo videos suck…but complaining about them sucking is…pointless? you bashing = no change…you showing them how to make combo video = MIGHT change…but still probably no change
Haha thats awesome, but no credits and epillepsy flashes?
