There were times where I would buffer it and there was nothing I could do.
If I were to Ultra 2 cross up tatsu; it would whiff.
He was doing a lot of safe demon flips
I never mash or buffer moves in tournament; I tend to play super safe and lame. Online I just go crazy and do dumb shit and sometimes, more often than not, I get away with it.
The one time it whiffed I tried to see if I could option select it and it whiffed anyway. By the time I noticed a pattern it was already too late for me to adjust.
T.Hawk is really great but I don’t think he has the ability to overcome his absolutely bad matchups in tournament play. It’s really sad, tbh.
I was playing against someone just now in endless. His lobby was setup with the message “Everyone Welcome”.
I pretty much Blew up his Sakura and near the end of the round he just stood there, then walked toward me to signal me to kill him.
He booted me as soon as we got back to the lobby. I sent him a message:
Me: "Your message says everyone’s welcome.

Matches were at 1:11:00 and 1:18:30 approx. Good stuff, tough break on that akuma. I want to say jump back MK would have worked, but most of his jumpin stuff was on knockdown. Ugh. Bad matchup.
If he’s salty in endless than he is an X-Box warrior. Its weird to me when people boot me in endless with this “NO THAWK!” Hate-mail its funny because in endless if I get rocked by someone I stay and try to adjust. I use endless to learn match-ups I use ranked to to have fun with people. Its like this… if you don’t think someone is funny once or twice in a match then you are doing something wrong, ESPECIALLY online because peopel do dumb things online and SOMEHOW WORKS for them and from me is like “No, im going to blow you up and its going to be funny” The best is when im in a link and randomlyl DP comes out of nowhere. Then I think “OK Well play that game” Then just in DP rest of the round and it works. Oh they mash DP in my links? Ill do the same" Its like GOD people take online so seriously its nutty. I mean I get mad like everyone else because I complain more about T.Hawks hitbox and getting hit by dumb shit.
I am going to Super VS Battle in 2 days representing T.Hawk, but I expect to get blown up badly. Still a bunch of matchups I am weak in. We’ll see how it goes.
Lol’d, I’m not a T. Hawk player but I keep getting told this (with Bison). Every tournament I say “I’LL BE THERE!”, and never turn up. Plus, I’m ass on the stick. Only good enough to beat randoms online with it, I really should train more with it instead of going for comfort (pad).
Going to a tournament next weekend and I’m also going to T12 in September (streamed by teamspooky). I was gonna be going to one this weekend as well but I have no ride. 
I picked up t.hawk for the first time about a week after ae dlc released, and have since really fell into a groove with him. his notably bad matchups are still a bit beyond me, but i feel like i’m closing that gap. Point is i’m moving to madison wisconsin here in the next couple weeks, hopefully there will be some decent scene there where i can get real live practice instead of online only. but worse case scenario there is that major in lacross wisconsin in the fall that actually was a huge deal last year, and no matter what i’ll be there this year. and it’s not too far from chicago as well, so i do plan on getting my tournament on finally after years of wanting to, but ultimately being unable to.
and i plan on maining hawk for them… though admittedly i’m a long time bison player, and if i draw a blanka, vega, or sagat(maybe akuma too) i will almost certainly switch back to him for it… which is a regrettable cop out, so hopefully before that time comes i can level up my hawk play enough to feel comfortable enough in those matchups to not feel a switch necessary.
Anyone going to SBO qualifier in Austin? Hopefully I can break away from the wife and at least get in on the casuals or money matches.
While I don’t play T.Hawk, I think this applies to just about every player in the FG community that wants to attend tournaments;
And thus people forget that some of us have jobs that conflict with tournaments and also don’t have any lying around.
My closest is an hour on a train (is also in the next country) and held on Sundays, my last method of getting home on that day is 5:20pm…and that’s when I’m back in the country I left and the train is nowhere near that time to get back to said location.
My next option is an £80 train for 3 hours to London and they hold their events on Thursday and Sunday…Sunday runs the same problem and I work Thursdays. See the predicament? and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
So no, not everyone has “No excuse.” to not attend tournaments, some people just have an unfeasible situation that they cannot get around.
My outstanding argument is that we need more character representation. A very small few of us actually do play out. I am fortunate enough to have 8 on the Break which if 40 minutes from my house. Guard Crush which is 50 minutes (or 2 hours by train) and other things that happen in Philly…
Where I live im fortunate enough to have 3-4 big events per year ((SBO, NEC, ECT, to name a few)
But I dunno any exposure is good exposure. I even play on Peaceful Jay and SRKLive. We hav very good players but they just dont show up… I dunno…

How do you get on Peacefuljay stream? I wouldn’t mind playing on it cause it seems like there are good players on there pretty frequently.

Just hit custom match on Endless Battle. It will take a while but SRKlive or Peaceful Jay will come up. It has some low level play but its still good enough competition that it keeps me going. Every once and a while you get some killers too.
Same here. We will represent the hawk, hopefully we don’t face each other right off the bat. It would be insane having 2 thawks reach top 8.
The problem with repping hawk is how easy he is to counterpick. His bad match ups are BAD and there are quite a few of them. Gief used to be seriously held back in tournaments by how badly he lost to sagat and seth. Hawk is in the same situation today but instead of having to worry about 2 characters he has to worry about 5 or 6. Not to mention how shockingly free he is to anyone who picks blanka.
It just doesn’t seem viable to compete with him seriously unless you have a counterpick or two in your pocket and I personally wouldn’t want to weaken my main by having my focus and training time spread across multiple characters. I can only hope that 2012 improves the situation.
I don’t have a car, so I can’t even make it to the weekly gatherings around my community because it’s too far to walk and public transportation in my city is shit.
Also, I have no friends, so I can’t just like, bum a ride off of one.
I can make it to tournaments that are at like USCD or SDSU, but the Frubble in Santee is just way too far.

Why would someone counterpick its like…do you think I dont know my characters horrible matchups better than you? So you blow em up.
I got counter picked 3 times at ECT and it was worse than their main. Sagat IS NOT A CONTERPICK TO THAWK. The only true counter picks are Blanka, Claw, Sim, Rose, Gouken, in order of effectiveness. You need a high defense character to counter pick thawk properlly and if you exposed someone for their lack of defense in one matchup, that crack in defense in the last match will carry over, it just doesnt t miraculously go because you are playing a high defense character. Who cars if you have a nice car if youre a shitty driver
I dont have a counter pick. If I switch characters, I obviously want to lose. I understand where you are comming from. Counter PIcking is the easy way out of really learning your character.
Make friends in those gatherings… Call em up , ask for a ride. Most people if in scenes dont mind giving rides since you are both going to the same place 99% of the time.
