Aerial Rave Major II will be at the Gateway Convention Center on November 7, 2009. I’m working out the pricing with gateway right now so you’ll be hearing more about this in the next couple of days. What I’m looking at is:
[]9,800 square foot room
[]16+ 32" Flat Screen CRT TVs
[]10ft projector for the finals
[]$500 bonus pot for SF4
[]$200 Bonus Pots for HDR, T6, BB, and SSBB (This is still in the works)
[]HELLA HYPE
I’ll be setting up a website with online registration and jazz here in the next few weeks so that we can gauge interest and adjust our requirements accordingly.
The venue fee will be $20 and I’ll offer a discount if you bring a console. Please spread the word guys! I’m putting a lot of my own fight money into this and I really don’t want to come out a loser (having to pay for insurance on this thing is murder!).
I’ve said before I will support any local tourney that hosts a major T6 tourney. I’m going to keep my word.
Think you can have pre-flyers done and to me before August 13th? Doesn’t matter how high quality they are, I’m going to an event(non-game related) that’s liable to have over 3,000 people, and I’m sure if I put out flyers there some of them will come to check it out. People are usually between the ages of 18 and 28, so it’s the prime demographic for this kind of thing.
If not, then I guess they can get handed out next time we do our breakdance exhibitions down at the loop, those usually draw pretty good crowds.
Hopefully T6 gets a good turn-out, considering most of STL will only have 10 days to practice before the tourney.
If anyone here has DR: Online and wants to get some warm-up in on DRO let me know. The connection should be great with all of us in the same area. Generally in local online games I can land multi-jab ISW’s, that’s good enough to consider legit practice.
Also, Kurasa, with this being a major and namco’s doing so much to help T6 in the competitive market, may I advise contacting them, or talking to markman, about them sponsoring? They did it for devastation, as well as Evo, so perhaps they’d be willing to help in some way here too. They’re going all out marketing this thing, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
Thus far they’ve been part of 4 tournaments this year, maybe more that I didn’t hear about. Worst they can do is say no, and they may even help make that pot bigger.
Drop some, I’ll pick one up, since Final Round is like 7 months away.
And I’m going to see if some of my homeys aside from the Smash crowd will show up for this. I’m pretty sure we’ll be picking up T6 when it releases and getting serious about it. I only hope the best player over here’s SC4 skills translate into T6 skills.
I’m expecting them to start playing some BB too, so hopefully I can get them all over here and into the competition.
I second this. I got my new one $2 cheaper than retail (which is about 40 cheaper than my first one…ebay scalpers ftl), and if you’re willing to wait a week, you can get free shipping on it.
