you dont have to be god. when david was at his prime, his abel was really good. why? he played smart and didnt throw out moves that can be punishable by knockdown whether it be throw, sweep, or super/ultra.
you need to stop being 1 sided and look at the grand picture. all you doin now is talkin smack about how abel gets owned for free when this and that happens. look at the the other way man. seriously kaal, you aight in person, but… you know the rest.
Actually, EX roll is completely safe except for throws. But people get to ‘meaty’ you for free coming out of it.
You do roll out of crossups a lot as Abel, but you can’t do it late (IE on your wakeup) since his roll has startup frames. You have to EX Roll, and they can jump in at you for free mixup on reaction if you do it on your wakeup.
Abel’s real problem is that he has utterly shit footsies. Rufus doesn’t. If CoD were safe on block, he’d be a lot better at footsies. Sadly, it’s not. Also, Abel can’t hit-confirm a knockdown from cr.lk xx cr.lp. Rufus can easy-mode blockstrings with s.lk -> s.hp xx lp Galactic Tornado (that version is completely safe, so don’t bring up the reversal hole if you use the hp version). Abel can’t.
ok, if abel’s footsie game so bad, how did shiro’s abel beat daigo who is known for footsie, etc. THE BEAST for short. rex will vouch in a little while.
yeah, my understanding from all this is you guys play abel WRONG! every character is only as bad as YOU want them to be. if abel has bad footsie game, you have bad footsie game. exceptions are made of course. we cant be at fault for shitty anti air (guile and claw come to mind). but footsie game is all player knowledge.
there are reasons people lose. you may think its cuz so and so character has bad footsie or bad whatever. no, the major reason is… we can read you hence we will abuse it till you figure something out.
He won by using EX CoD FADC cr.hp. He had to use a 3-bar poke. He also managed to get a few lp TT grabs to grab Ryu’s pokes.
and that’s a problem how? its part of abel’s footsie game. every character doesnt play the same. each character has different tools. if abel’s footsie game consist of ex CoD(body armor) into FADC, so be it. it’s his way of getting in.
it doesnt matter how someone wins. a win is a win. end of discussion.

americans thinks daigo footsie isn’t that good. but it’s weird to me, daigo whiffs c.mk a LOT against justin. justin couldn’t punish with abel, nothing is fast enough. but boxer can punish whiff c.mk.
my problem? daigo never whiffs c.mk against another ryu. his ryu plays mad good footsie game against another ryu.
point? i think as far as footsies goes, daigo doesn’t care to whiff c.mk against certain characters. daigo isn’t an idiot, i’m sure he has reasons for doing so. but justin kind of writes is off as bad footsies. do you really think daigo would just whiff c.mk a lot due to bad footsies? lol, just doesn’t sound like a top player mentality. i definitely think daigo has better footsies than what justin is givin him credit for.

So I went to an arcade auction in Belleville today. I scored not one, but TWO Neo-Geo arcade cabinets for $300! One is a dedicated two-slot; the other I’m guessing was converted from standard JAMMA into a one-slot. They’re both in rough shape, so my plan is to restore the 2-slot and convert it into 4 or 6-slot. The one-slot I’m going to either convert back to standard JAMMA for SF and shit, or MAME it. Haven’t quite decided yet…
The controls on both of them are worn and suck ass, so you wanna install happs at some point, Raeli? I don’t really plan on working on em till September.

So, the screws that attached my old SE stick to the mounting plate didn’t fit the replacement JLF. So I used Gorilla Glue to permanently attach my mounting plate to the stick. Works great now.

One of the carts alone is worth 150 but it had the Mini Marquee and Moveset as well.
The entire box would have been worth 300-350 if all sold individually.
