Good to hear there’s some interest in offline KOF here. We’ll definitely have to sit down and do some learnin’ on KOF12 at the ranbat this month. And yes I’ll actually show up this time
Cam -I’ll pester you on AIM, we live so close it’s like, wtf, let’s play 5 times a week lol
I feel you there man. Online has spoiled people to where if a game doesn’t have it people bitch. If its a fighting game…just play with friends. Lonely bastards
Well, some people like… Missing Person, for example, have no one to play with and live 2 and a half hours away from STL.
…pretty understandable that if the netcode is shit it’s not worth buying for him. Because if it’s too bad to play, then he’d only play it at AR… where it’ll be anyway, so why buy it? Training mode? For 60 bucks? fuck that.
yeah i always loved the SNK characters after capcom intorduced me to them in CVS1. They were a very interesting breed, much more eccentric and different from the capcom crew, which is why i hope they make a CVS 3, and if that has any chance of happening, I hope KOF12 does well. and i would hope they use the graphics of kof12.
and you can bet your ass ill buy kof12, with or without good netcode, as long as people are willing to give it a chance locally. Raiden’s in it and that’s all i need.
Aaron, I’m still trying to get better at blazblue, but I definitely need training.
I, in my own opinion love that the game is shallow compared to guilty gear, i felt like i was going into slash/accent core, thinking i should’ve already known what the hell im supposed to be doing. I like that all these fighting games are starting off fresh. new players are never a bad thing.
I don’t find KOF to be worth $60 no matter what. I’m pretty much mainly buying it to support the scene. KOF is ok but its not something that I cannot wait for…and their delays don’t help. But yea, I’m still buying the PS3 version though.
so, hypothetically if i was having to do tiger knee motions to throw out say, ryu’s ultra, if ryu was on 1p side, would the be problem be that the spring is too loose? or would be just me? would stretching the spring make it tighter somehow?

Well I orignally had plans to go since like DEC 08 but like 3 months ago I got a letter from work saying I had to work 2 weeks in July and that it was mandatory (gov will always get their way no matter how hard you try) so I ended up not registering.
I just got word on Sunday though that they “might” not need me anymore on that weekend. Since it wasn’t “mandatory” for me to show up that weekend anymore possibly, I started looking into registration by then and was looking at plane tickets right away shortly after.
Plane tickets were like $450 round trip, as of that time… And I still wasn’t 100% sure I would of been able to go. So I didn’t buy them :). Registration was ending Sunday and I wasn’t going to get confirmation on the weekend being completely free until Monday. I ended up not registering, and decided well it would still be cool to go and atleast get some casuals in and hype up STL players. That dream was quickly crushed by reality when I saw plane tickets were up in the $600s - $700 range. And with AR right around the corner, it would probably be better just to wait for that instead anyway.
Do I still want to go? Of course, considering I might be in the middle east next year I wanted to make it out this year :P. I’m still trying to decide if I want to go or not, but you have to admit someone would have to be kind of crazy to spend that much to go to a tournament and not compete at all. Oh well, there is always next time! In the mean time, I have some serious leveling up to do :D.
